Mini Bio

Born along the Moray coast, I spent my early childhood playing on beautiful, sweeping beaches and learning to ski (or, more often, fall over). My father’s job kept us on the move though, and I was soon just as at home amidst rolling English downs, German markets and Welsh valleys.  All this travel gave me a thirst for adventure that I have had a lot of fun satisfying over the years, but I am glad to be back in the Highlands again; there really is no place like home.

Place to Play

It is too difficult to pick one place when you are surrounded by the beauty of the Cairngorms. From clear blue lochs to swim in, to fresh powder to ride on, this is one irresistible playground.

I also love heading down into England where the promise of a lovely long walk awaits, whether through rolling countryside, up a fell and along a rugged beach. There’s also always the promise of a good pub around every corner…

Not a lot of people know this

I canoed the breathtaking Caledonian Canal for my Gold DofE expedition. The group that went the year before us had a lovely tailwind so tied their canoes together, put a sail up, and enjoyed the ride. We weren’t quite so lucky and had a strong headwind, a cracked canoe, and all developed a fear of oat biscuits I haven’t recovered from to this day.
