2026 - Adventures in Good Company - Hiking in Wales

Thursday 3rd September – Wednesday 9th September 2026

Number of Travellers: 13
Duration: 7 Days / 6 Nights

Overview

Embark on a trip to the castle capital of the world, Wales. Although a small country, it is second to none in its fascinating history, varied and stunning topography, and a warm and welcoming tradition of hospitality, and our hiking trip is a perfect mixture of hiking in stunning landscapes, interwoven with cultural encounters and experiences. We begin our adventure in the vibrant capital city of Cardiff before heading off to the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the breathtaking Gower Peninsula. Then it’s on to the coast of Pembrokeshire, widely regarded as the spiritual heartland of Wales. Finally we head north to the rugged mountains of Snowdonia, a stronghold of Welsh culture. Castles and fortresses dot the landscape, a reflection of its turbulent history and whilst a part of Great Britain, Welsh culture has survived largely intact, as demonstrated by the bilingualism we’ll find everywhere. Croeso I Gymru!

The name “Devil’s Bridge” actually refers to three separate bridges built on top of each other. The first bridge was constructed by monks in the 11th century, the second in 1753, and the third in 1901. Each bridge serves as both a functional crossing and a testament to the area’s historical significance. After lunch, a slightly longer transfer will take us to our boutique country house hotel nestled in the foothills of Yr Wyddfa.

Today we have a few options for your Yr Wyddfa adventure, for those wishing to opt for a leisurely ascent of the peak you’ll be able to ride the historic Snowdon Mountain Railway to the summit and back from Llanberis.
