2026 (CONCEPT) Wilderness Travel - Scotland’s Highlands & Islands (Private Departure - June)

June 2026 (TBC)

Number of Travellers: 11
Duration: 9 Days / 8 Nights

Overview

In Scotland’s realm of mist-shrouded crags and heathered moors, we’ve crafted a hiking trip from the legendary Isle of Skye to rual Perthshire.

Our trails bring us to the glistening lochs of Glen Affric and among the pinnacles of the Quiraing, a geological wonder and an icon of Scotland.

Start  / Finish: Inverness

Inverness is easily accessible from across the UK, connected by regular flights from various cities in the UK and Europe. It’s also on the UK mainline, with the sleeper train being an attractive option for the journey to/from destinations in the south of the UK. The airport is just 20 minutes from the city center and is connected by bus and taxi. Your guide will offer a drop off at the airport, railway station or city center hotel.

We then continue on to the lovely accommodation that will be your base for the next three nights. Spend a bit of time relaxing with a book, or take a short walk to explore before we head out together for a lovely meal in the popular Victorian village.

Day 5 - Canoeing on Loch Tay

In the soft, whispery light, quietly launch your canoes into the tranquil waters of Loch Tay for a morning spent exploring the glassy beauty of this loch.

With your expert guide, paddle along the peaceful shores, eventually beaching your boats in the perfect spot for a picnic with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills.

After lunch, explore the crannog – which you will have spotted as you paddled past. This roundhouse (perched on stilts in the water) is a reconstructed iron age dwelling. Learn about what life would have been like for people living here over 2500 years ago.

Strong groups who are confident on rough terrain may opt to push on through a rocky gully to reach a tiny loch 1,000 feet higher up in the heart of Coire Lagan.
