Day by Day

Day 1 - Sunday 19th July - Welcome to Edinburgh

Arrive at Edinburgh Airport and make the short transfer to your hotel. There is an efficient tram city from the airport which takes you directly to the city center. From there, it’s easy to grab a taxi to the hotel.

There are various restaurants within a 5 minute walk of the hotel. This evening, enjoy dinner and a good night’s sleep.

Day 2 - Monday 20th July - Edinburgh and Travel North

At 9am, a local city guide will meet you in the lobby of the hotel for a walking tour of Edinburgh’s Old Town. Finishing back at the hotel, you will then meet the hiking guide who will be with you for the rest of the trip.

In the afternoon we transfer north into the Highlands and the village of Pitlochry.

On arrival, we visit a whisky distillery for a tour with tasting. Later, we enjoy an evening meal together at the hotel.

Day 3 - Tuesday 21st July - Hiking Ben Vrackie

Every Highland village has a mountain it describes as its own, and Pitlochry’s mountain is Ben Vrackie, which towers over the village. The hike takes us across the moors to a small loch before we stake on the steep final slopes to the summit, where we are rewarded with wonderful views.

Descending to Pitlochry, the rest of the day is free.

Day 4 - Wednesday 22nd July - Hiking Ben Venue

A short transfer takes us west into Loch Lomond National Park.

We take a short detour to visit Rob Roy MacGregor’s grave, located in a small churchyard amidst the hills where he roamed. Our hike today is Ben Venue, which offers fantastic views across the National Park.

We will then transfer to our next hotel, located in the nearby village of Drymen.

Walk Details: 14 km / 9 miles | 750 m / 2,461 ft elevation gain | Approx: 6 hrs

Day 5 - Thursday 23rd July - Hiking Conic Hill

Conic Hill is a small summit (358m high) with an almighty view. It lies on the Highland Boundary Fault, and also forms part of the West Highland Way. A popular climb, it starts in the forest and then breaks out as you climb higher. The view across Loch Lomond from the summit is one of the best in Scotland.

We return from the hill and now experience the beauty of Loch Lomond from a different perspective, as we enjoy a relaxed boat trip across the famous Loch to the island of Inchcailloch. We enjoy a short walk on the tiny Island, and experience something truly magical.

Afterwards, we return to our hotel where we can look forward to the final night evening meal together.

Walk Details: 6 km / 4 miles | 400 m / 1,312 ft elevation gain | Approx: 4 hrs

Day 6 - Friday 24th July - Depart Edinburgh

After breakfast, we transfer back to Edinburgh airport (just over 1 hour) and depart for home.

The NET price for this itinerary is variable depending on group size (excluding Green Oliver leader) as follows:

  • 4 travelers: £2,050 pp
  • 5 travelers: £1,900 pp
  • 6-15 travellers: £1,725 pp
  • Single supplement: £750  (2 single occupancy rooms available)

In addition to the above prices, we could offer a reduced price for the Green Oliver leader, who would be charged at £1,350. This is based on the same inclusions as the guests and includes a single-room supplement (15 guests & 1 Green Oliver leader – 16 Travellers).
