Day 1 - Saturday 20th September - Welcome to Cornwall

Day 2 - Sunday 21st September - A Day at Leisure

Start your day with a relaxing morning. Perhaps take the opportunity to visit the vibrant fishing town of Padstow, known for its picturesque harbour and culinary delights. Stroll along the bustling quayside, where colourful fishing boats bob on the water, and explore the local shops, artisan cafes and hidden gems like the National Lobster Hatchery. Maybe stop for a treat at one of Rick Stein’s famous eateries before making your way to the ferry and pop over the Camel Estuary bringing you to the chic village of Rock. Here, golden sands and calm waters invite a leisurely beach walk or a spot of relaxation. After soaking in the coastal beauty, hop back on the ferry to Padstow for an evening of fresh seafood and sunset views over the harbour.

Day 3 - Monday 22nd September - Doc Martin's Port Isaac

Begin your day by meeting your local guide for an adventure to the charming fishing village of Port Isaac, where the beloved Doc Martin series was filmed. As you wander through its narrow, winding streets, you’ll instantly capture the sense of nostalgia and sense of a close knit community from the series. Recognise the iconic locations such as the doctor’s surgery, the village shop, Louisa’s home, and the quaint harbour that’s been the backdrop for so many scenes. Soak in the atmosphere as you visit local shops and cafes, perhaps enjoying some Cornish cuisine by the sea.

Afterward, set off on a breathtaking coastal walk along the South West Coast Path, where rugged cliffs and dramatic ocean views stretch out before you. The fresh sea breeze and panoramic vistas provide the perfect ending to your Doc Martin-inspired day.

Day 4 - Tuesday 23rd September - Exploring the Coastline

Spend today exploring the rugged North Cornish coastline begins with breathtaking views from high cliffs, where the Atlantic waves crash dramatically against the rocks, and coastal paths wind through wildflower-filled moorlands. Hike along this untamed landscape, discovering hidden coves and sweeping beaches, before arriving at Perranporth, a vast stretch of golden sand.

Visit the famous Watering Hole pub, perched right on the beach and then saddle up for an unforgettable horseback ride. The sun begins to lower, casting a golden glow on the sand as you gallop through the surf, feeling the salty breeze and the freedom of the open coast.

Day 5 - Wednesday 24th September - From Cornwall to Devon

Start the day with a visit to Lanhydrock House. You’ll be immersed in the opulence of a grand Victorian estate, with its richly furnished rooms offering a glimpse into the lives of its former aristocratic residents. Wandering through the house, explore the elegant dining room, servants’ quarters, and ornate bedrooms, each steeped in history. Outside, the beautifully landscaped gardens and wooded parklands provide a tranquil escape, with vibrant flowers and winding pathways leading to breathtaking views over the Cornish countryside.

Afterwards, continue to drive through the expansive moorlands of Bodmin and Dartmoor, where the landscape transforms into a dramatic tapestry of rolling hills, rocky tors, and wild, windswept heathland. The road winds through this vast, open wilderness, with occasional glimpses of grazing ponies and ancient stone circles. Stop for a brisk walk and to admire the views. The journey continues through Devon’s picturesque countryside, eventually arriving at your country house hotel. Settle in for a well-deserved rest, enjoying the tranquility and comfort as the evening unfolds.

Day 6 - Thursday 25th September - Exploring Devon's Highlights

A day exploring the highlights of Devon begins with a visit to Castle Drogo, perched high above the Teign Gorge, where the blend of medieval-inspired architecture and stunning views captures your imagination. Stroll through its atmospheric rooms, from the grand Great Hall to the cosy library, before taking a walk through the beautifully terraced gardens.

The afternoon begins at Darts Farm, a vibrant hub of local produce and artisan goods, where you browse farm-fresh food and handmade crafts. Then head to Exmouth, a charming seaside town with golden beaches and a lively promenade. After a relaxing stroll along the shore, make your way to Powderham Castle, an impressive 600-year-old estate nestled along the River Exe. Spend some time exploring its grand interiors, from the stately rooms to the medieval chapel, before wandering the deer park and gardens, with the castle’s towers standing tall against the evening sky.

This evening, head back to your hotel for your final night in England and bid farewell to your guide.

Day 7 - Friday 26th September - Depart

Upon arriving in London, transfer to your onward travel with memories of rugged coastlines, cosy inns, and Doc Martin’s Port Isaac, you’ll feel both refreshed and inspired as you make your way home.
