Day by Day

Day 1 - Entering the Cotswolds

Upon arrival, a short transfer will take us from the centre of Oxford to our start location. We’ll pass through Woodstock, the home of Blenheim Palace, the largest secular monument of English Baroque architecture before crossing into the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). We’ll pass through small Cotswolds villages and hamlets enjoying quiet country lanes as we go, finishing in a small market town ahead of a welcome dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 2 - A Cotswold Loop

Today’s ride takes us into the north-east Cotswolds, we’ll enjoy rolling terrain offering changing views over each summit before taking a break at a local brewery to experience the sights and sounds of brewing the Hooky way. Enjoy lunch here before setting off toward a Neolithic and Bronze Age site, shrouded in local legend. We complete the day with a little more rolling terrain. Dinner is on your own tonight, however there are many options for you to choose from locally

Day 3 - Hiking and Biking

A change of pace today as we strap on our hiking boots and transfer to Broadway Tower, our journey on the Cotswold Way begins here. The route takes us from Broadway’s iconic tower down to the historic high street before winding through rolling hills, open fields, and wooded areas on our way to Stanton, The end of our hike and our pub lunch to fuel us for the afternoon. Once back at the hotel, we’ll swap our hiking boots for our cycling shoes and enjoy a gentle ride to Bourton-on-the-water, known as ‘the Venice of the Cotswolds’. Spend a little time exploring the pretty town and its five low, arched stone bridges.

Day 4 - The Spine of the Cotswolds

After breakfast we’ll transfer to Chedworth Roman Villa, one of Britain’s largest and best-preserved Roman villas for a fascinating glimpse into Roman-British life. Afterwards, we’ll saddle up and begin our journey toward the well-being destination of Bath, en route we’ll pass through Tetbury and Malmesbury before enjoying a well-earned afternoon tea and a final roll into Bath’s centre.

Day 5 - Into the Mendips

Today we’ll leave the hustle and bustle of the city and head south toward the Mendip Hills. The route is mostly undulating until we approach the spectacular Cheddar Gorge, a final 5-mile descent weaves through awe-inspiring cliffs known as one of Britain’s most spectacular natural landmarks. After lunch enjoy some free time to take a stroll in the village of Cheddar before transferring back to Bath. Tonight we’ll dine together to celebrate a trip not to forget.

Day 6 - Bath to Bath

Our final ride of this trip takes us along the banks of the River Avon, a picturesque and serene experience. Along the way, you’ll encounter historic bridges and in particular The Dundas Aqueduct that carries the Kennet and Avon Canal over the River Avon. As we arrive in Bradford-on-Avon you’ll pass well-preserved architecture, including Saxon, medieval, and Georgian buildings before looping back into Bath. This afternoon the trip end and you’ll say farewell to your guides. Link from Bath Spa train station to London and frequent, a journey of roughly 1.5 hours, alternatively enjoy some free time in Bath to explore the city further.
