Day by Day

Day 1 - Saturday 15th June - Welcome to Dublin

Arriving in Ireland today, a private transfer will pick you up from the airport and whisk you into the city to your 5 star hotel in the city centre. Check-in is at 3pm however feel free to leave your bags, freshen up, or have a bite to eat.

Head out in the afternoon to enjoy a walking tour with a local private guide through this vibrant capital city, with its mix of 1,000 years of architecture from the mediaeval to Georgian to modern. See the Georgian style Merrion Square, lush St. Stephen’s Green and Fitzwilliam Square, as well as O’Connell Street, the site of the ‘1916 Uprising’ that led to Ireland’s independence in 1922. Your guide is also a historian who will bring the city to life with colourful tales of life in the city in times gone by.

We have many recommendations for dinner this evening from fine dining, Michelin restaurants to more casual affairs.

Day 2 - Sunday 16th June - Kilkenny Medieval City

With your guide joining you today its time to leave the city behind and start exploring with our first stop, a visit to the mediaeval town of Kilkenny. Meet a local who will help you discover the history, landmarks, stories and fun facts of this ancient city, once a seat of high power in Ireland. Tour the castle and walk the Medieval Mile where the infamous witch Alice Kyteler lived and died.
Continue your journey to the coast town of Kinsale, with views of the picturesque harbour from your accommodation where your guide will join you for dinner this evening.

Day 3 - Monday 17th June - Visit Charles Fort and Discover Kinsale

After breakfast, join your guide to meander through the bright coastal town of Kinsale. Historically a medieval fishing port, its spectacular waterfront setting and candy-coloured houses, shops and restaurants, make it a glorious blend of old and the new. After a mellow morning, walk to the historic Charles Fort – a 17th-century military fortress which stretches across the cliffs and down to the seashore. Learn about the turbulent years of the Williamite War and hear the haunting tale of the White Lady. This afternoon, join a local for a delicious food tour, discovering Kinsale’s culinary delights.

Day 4 - Tuesday 18th June - Farm and Cheese Tasting

We love to offer our visitors the chance to partake in local and authentic experiences, meeting the people who call Ireland home and learning of their culture and history.

Today you will visit a farm in the lush green countryside where you will take a tour of the land, meet the herd, chat about all things agricultural with the farmer and partake in a special tasting experience using local produce and cheese made right there on the farm.

This evening, check into the stunning Sheen Falls Hotel in picturesque Kenmare Co. Kerry.

Day 5 - Wednesday 19th June - Foraging the Atlantic Shores

The crystal clear coastal waters and shores of Ireland have been providing its inhabitants with sustenance for a millenia. This morning, meet a local fisherman, forager, poet and gent John who will help you discover the many edible gems to be found among the nook and crannies with a unique seaweed foraging walk.

After a delicious lunch in a nearby pub, take a spin out to the nearby Valentia Island, a step back in time. On the rugged and exposed elements of the southwest coast is Valentia Lighthouse, a beacon of safety to many a seaward traveller. There are even prehistoric fossilised footprints to discover.

Day 6 - Thursday 20th June - Exploring Beara Peninsula

With peninsulas that stretch out into the Atlantic Ocean, old-growth forests and towering mountains, Kerry is undoubtedly one of  Ireland’s most beautiful regions. Join your guide today to explore its wild and contrasting landscapes. Visit the lesser-known Beara Peninsula, learning about its history as you hike among the old copper mines. As the golden evening light begins to slide across the sea, return to your lovely hotel and enjoy a final dinner with your guide.

Day 7 - Friday 21st June - The Rock of Cashel

After enjoying a relaxing morning onsite at Sheen Falls, it is time to leave the west coast. You have one final night in Ireland ahead of your flights to Scotland in the morning and to make the most of your day, we suggest making a few stops on route.

Set on a dramatic outcrop of limestone in the Golden Vale, the Rock of Cashel, iconic in its historic significance, possesses the most impressive cluster of mediaeval buildings in Ireland. Among the monuments to be found there is a round tower, a high cross, a Romanesque chapel, a Gothic cathedral, an abbey, the Hall of the Vicars Choral and a fifteenth-century Tower House. A truly stunning site of historical importance.

Your guide will say goodbye to you at your hotel on drop off, leaving you to enjoy your last night in Ireland together.

Day 8 - Saturday 22nd June - Depart for Scotland

A private transfer will take you to Dublin airport this morning ahead of your flights to Scotland.
