Day by Day

Day 1 - Sunday 28th July - Welcome to Edinburgh

Arrive in Edinburgh and settle into your accommodation.

Explore the history of the city and wander down the Royal Mile towards Calton Hill and take in the sweeping views of the city. Spend the afternoon exploring the New Town.

Day 2 - Monday 29th July - Exploring Edinburgh

In the morning, enjoy a private walking tour with an expert local guide, learning more about the historic city.

Free afternoon to continue exploring the city at your own pace.

Day 3 - Tuesday 30th July - Journey north to Gleneagles

Embark by train to Gleneagles, enjoying the scenic journey along the way.

Upon arrival at Gleneagles, enjoy the complimentary chauffeur transfer from the train station to the hotel. Settle into your accommodations and perhaps take a leisurely stroll and prepare for your adventure in the countryside.

Spend the evening having a fabulous dining experience in one of the Michelin starred restaurants and retire to your rooms for a peaceful sleep.

Day 4 - Wednesday 31st July - Country Pursuits at Gleneagles

After a delicious breakfast, head into the Gleneagles countryside and explore some of the many offerings at the resort. Whether you wish to test your target practice with a round of clay-pigeon shooting or saddle up and explore the stunning estate on horseback, enjoy switching off and immersing yourself in the beautiful surrounding landscapes.

Day 5 - Thursday 1st August - Bothy Picnic on Private Estate

This morning you will meet your guide, who will whisk you away from Gleneagles and into the Scottish Highlands of Perthshire.

As you travel towards the Cairngorm Mountains National Park, we will embark on an adventure through a private estate to enjoy a posh picnic and whisky tasting in a mountain bothy with panoramic views of the surrounding hills. You will enjoy a tasting menu with dishes created to accompany specific flights of whisky.

Afterwards, continue north, watching the landscape change from the rolling fields and old pastoral beauty of Perthshire to the rugged heathery hillsides of the Cairngorm mountains. Arrive in the picturesque village of Braemar this afternoon and settle into your cosy accommodation.

Day 6 - Friday 2nd August - Hiking in Balmoral and a Distillery Tour

This morning, head out with your guide for a stunning hike in the beautiful Balmoral Estate. Your hike will advise a hike based on your preferences and accompany you throughout.

After lunch, enjoy a tour of a local distillery and then return to the hotel for dinner and a relaxing dram.

Day 7 - Saturday 3rd August - Speyside Way and Historic Wool Mill

Travel north along the Speyside way, passing by many of the most famous whisky distilleries, including Macallan, Glenfiddich, Glenlivet or Aberlour.

Continue on to Elgin where you will enjoy a private tour of a historic wool mill and a Champagne afternoon tea.

Finish the day in Inverness and explore the city in the evening.

Day 8 - Sunday 4th August - Over the Sea to Skye

Depart Inverness and head along Loch Ness, where you will enjoy a private cruise on Loch Ness and then explore Urquhart Castle on the shore of the loch. Continue along the scenic road to the magical Isle of Skye.

Day 9 - Monday 5th August - North Skye

Spend the day exploring the north end of Skye, including the dramatic landscapes of the Quiraing and the Old Man of Storr. Then hunt for dinosaur footprints on the beach at low tide.

Day 10 - Tuesday 6th August - Loch Coruisk Exploration

Enjoy a boat trip along Loch Coruisk, taking in the dramatic backdrop of the jagged peaks of the Black Cuillin mountain range. From here, your guide will lead you on a hike at the bottom of the ridge for spectacular views.

Return to your hotel for a relaxing evening and delicious meal.

Day 11 - Wednesday 7th August - Glencoe via Road to the Isles

Depart Skye to the mainland via the ferry to the ”Road to the Isle,” which will take you past the Glenfinnan viaduct, featured in several Happy Potter films.

Enjoy a hike in the West Highlands, taking in the sweeping views of the mountains.

Relax in comfort on your last night in the Scottish Highlands.

Day 12 - Thursday 8th August - Transfer to Edinburgh

Your guide will transfer you back to your hotel back to Edinburgh, making stops along the way.

Once you are back in Edinburgh, immerse yourself in the fully festivities of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and treat yourself to a show.

Day 13 - Friday 9th August - Depart Home

After a fabulous 12 days exploring Scotland, depart home.
