Day by Day

Day 1 - Monday 4th August - Welcome to London

On arrival in London, a private transfer will take you to your centrally located hotel where you can take some time to relax ahead of your first evening in England. An unmissable destination for travellers, the capital city is an international melting pot that brims with culture, history and iconic landmarks. With a well-known and well-deserved reputation for an eclectic and globally diverse food scene, your dinner this evening is sure to be a thoroughly enjoyable affair.

Later, draw the curtains on the twinkling lights of the city to enjoy a good night’s sleep ahead of an exciting day of exploring tomorrow.

Day 2 - Tuesday 5th August - Onwards to Bath via Stonehenge

This morning a private transfer will collect you from your hotel and take you to the historic city of Bath.

En-route you will stop at Stonehenge, a ring of standing stones, each weighing several tons, and dating back to around 2500 BCE. The purpose of Stonehenge remains a mystery, with theories suggesting it may have been a ceremonial site, a religious centre, or an astronomical observatory. An expert guide will meet you at Stonehenge to give you more information about this fascinating place.

You will then continue on your journey to Bath where you will check into the fabulous Queensberry Hotel, which boasts the only Michelin Starred restaurant in the city.

Day 3 - Wednesday 6th August - Explore the Historic City of Bath

Head out this morning with a local expert guide to enjoy a wonderful half day walking tour of the city, A walking tour of Bath offers a charming journey through the centuries. Immerse yourself in it’s history and marvel at the elegant Georgian architecture. Strolling through the city’s honey-coloured streets, you will admire landmarks like the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, and the iconic Royal Crescent as your guide regales you with tales of the historic city.

After saying goodbye to your guide, you have the rest of the day to yourselves to further explore the city. Don’t forget to visit the oldest building in Bath, Sally Lunn’s to sample a legendary Sally Lunn Bun.

Day 4 - Thursday 7th August - Journey through the Cotswolds

Your guide for the next couple of days will collect you from your hotel and take you on a journey through the Cotswolds.

You will make several stops along the way, including Bibury and the beautiful Bourton-on-the Water, dubbed the “Venice of the Cotswolds” where you will visit the Jelfs Pottery workshop. You will then explore the pretty twin villages of Upper and Lower Slaughter, walking between the two to gain the best views of the surrounding Countryside.

Your guide will then take you to your Cotswolds hotel, the stunning Manor House Hotel, situated in the pretty market town of Moreton-in-Marsh.

Day 5 - Friday 8th August - Explore the Cotswolds

After you have enjoyed a hearty breakfast your guide will collect you to take you on a full day tour of the Cotswolds.

Starting with a wander around the famous Malmesbury Artisan and Farmers Market you will then spend time exploring the historic town of Tetbury, the home of King Charles III. Next, you will journey to Stow on the Wold, the highest of the Cotswold towns and home to a wide range of independent shops, antique centres and an impressive Market Square. Don’t forget to visit the unusual Yew Tree Door at St Edward’s Church also know as the “Tolkien Door”, as it is rumoured to be the inspiration behind J. R. R. Tolkien’s Doors of Durin.

Your guide will then take you back to your hotel for a much deserved rest.

Day 6 - Saturday 9th August - Cotswolds and Blenheim Palace

On your final day with your guide you will visit the market town of Chipping Campden. Explore the Court Barn Museum, a wonderful celebration of local craft and design and step into the Guild of Handicraft, where you can view Harts Silversmith workshop, based in the same space used by C.R Ashbee’s silversmiths from 1902 to 1908.

Next you will continue on to the magnificent Hidcote Arts and Crafts-inspired gardens. which offer  a series of outdoor “rooms,” each with its own character, framed by hedges and filled with vibrant blooms, charming vistas, and quiet corners. Created by horticulturist Lawrence Johnston, Hidcote is perfect for a leisurely stroll, photography, or simply soaking in the serene beauty of nature.

Finally you will end your day at the stunning Blenheim Palace. As the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the palace boasts breathtaking Baroque architecture, opulent interiors, and a rich history.

After another busy day your guide will take you to the Store Hotel, Oxford where they will bid you goodbye.

Day 7 - Sunday 10th August - Private Walking Tour of Oxford With Expert Guide

Meet your local city guide in the lobby of your hotel and head out for an exciting half day walking tour of Oxford. An established town since the 9th century, people have inhabited this area for thousands of years. Admire the stunning architecture of Christ Church College, weave your way through cobblestone streets – discovering secret spots and hidden gems –  as your guide brings the history of this wonderful city to life with fantastic facts and entertaining stories.

Your guide will then see you back to your hotel where you can enjoy the rest of your afternoon in this fascinating city.

Day 8 - Monday 11th August - Depart
