Day 1 - Friday 31st May - Arrival in Belfast- Explore afternoon

Arriving into Belfast, your guide will meet you at the airport and take you the short distance to you central hotel.

We have some wonderful suggestions for your afternoon of exploration to introduce you to Belfast and Northern Ireland.

Housed in an iconic building in the beautiful surroundings of Belfast’s Botanic Gardens, the Ulster Museum is a place of awe and wonder; a place with open doors for open minds. Uniquely, it is a resource that locates Ulster’s shared and contested past within the broader context of the museum’s multidisciplinary Art, History and Natural Sciences collections; offering new perspectives and complementary prisms on the wider world.
We also highly recommend making the time to visit Crumlin Gaol, one of only a handful of remaining Victorian Era prisons, Crumlin only closed its door in 1996. A fascinating glimpse into the history of Ireland from the women and children housed here to the men hanged.

Your guide will join you for dinner tonight to welcome you to your short break in Ireland.

Day 2 - Saturday 1st June - Derry and The Causeway Coastal Route

We start our day today with a visit the City of Derry, the only remaining completely walled city in Ireland and one of the finest examples of Walled Cities in Europe. Built in the 17th century, the walls, approximately 1.5km in circumference, form a walkway around the inner city and provide a unique promenade with which to view the layout of the original town.

Leaving Derry, we meander back towards the Belfast city along the stunning causeway coastal route stopping at the famed Bushmills Distillery for an afternoon tour and tasting. The Causeway Coastal Route is possibly one of the world’s greatest road trips, featuring castles, temples, cliff top walks, caves, Game of Thrones filming sites, remote islands and its most famous attraction, The Giant’s Causeway.

Day 3 - Sunday 2nd June - The History of The Troubles

Francis channelled his love of Belfast into his education and career, and is now one of the North’s top tour guides. Embark on a dark journey into the social and political conditions that led to the infamous ‘Troubles’ periods of Belfast’s history. The tour covers the origins of political and civil sectarianism and includes a guided visit of the Crumlin Road Gaol before visit some of the political Murals across the city.
