Overview

This bespoke itinerary, centered around hiking, offers an ideal mix of heritage, nature, and breathtaking landscapes, allowing you to fully experience the magnificence of Scotland. We’ll start our adventure in Royal Deeside, home to Balmoral Castle, the Scottish residence of the King. From there, we’ll head to the Spey Valley, renowned for it’s vast forests of towering pines and mountainous landscapes, all within the sprawling Cairngorms, Scotland’s largest National Park. Our journey continues to the magical wilderness of Glencoe, a region rich in ancient folklore and history as deep as the Glens. With our local guide leading the way, we’ll wander through serene glens, fragrant pine forests, and heather-covered moors teeming with wildlife, enjoying some of the best easy to moderate hikes in the Highlands. Each evening, we’ll relax and reflect on the day’s experiences, enjoying the renowned warm hospitality of the Highlands.

Day by Day

Day 1 - Meet local guide in Edinburgh - see the city on a walk with a different perspective - welcome dinner

Overnight: Edinburgh

Day 2 - Transfer to the Cairngorms National Park - short local walk - visit Balmoral

Overnight: Ballater

Day 3 - Local hike - visit Braemar Castle or Distillery - free time in the picturesque village of Ballater

Day 4 - Transfer west to Aviemore - visit a sustainably farmed croft run by two inspiring women - local forest walk

Day 5 - Day hike in the Cairngorms

Day 7 - Hike in Glencoe (D5 Glencoe and the Highlands)

Day 8 - Visit Rob Roys Grave - short hike - transfer back to Edinburgh (D7 Glencoe and the Highlands) - farewell dinner
