Day by Day

Day 1 - Sunday 10th May - Céad míle fáilte - One Hundred Thousand Welcomes

Céad míle fáilte – one hundred thousand welcomes – to Ireland’s capital, Dublin. Upon arrival, a private transfer will provide a smooth journey into the city and onwards to the hotel. The rest of the day offers time to explore at a relaxed pace. Dublin reveals itself best on foot or via the LUAS, the city’s light rail system.

Many key sites lie within easy reach, with the real charm found in the quiet moments between them – wandering cobbled lanes, browsing independent bookshops, or pausing for a pub lunch.

The afternoon is ideal for taking in a few of the capital’s cultural landmarks. We have options for a fantastic historical walking tour or the iconic Guinness Storehouse.

Overnight: Dublin | The Merrion Hotel

Day 2 - Monday 11th May - Falconry

With your dedicated driver/ guide/s meeting you this morning, transfer from Dublin on the East Coast to the West, where the drama of the Atlantic Ocean meets the stunning Irish shores.
Our first stop of the day is Galway City, a bohemian artsy city where buskers and performance artists come to live, work and play. Here you will meet a local historian guide who specialises in the military history of Galway and indeed Ireland. Discover ancient original city walls found in a shopping centre, hear stories of the tribes and their brutal reign and discover why we have the Galway Hooker.

From Galway, we move to Ashford Castle on the Galway/Mayo border. Here you will experience the ancient art of falconry on a private, guided session. Get up close to trained birds of prey, learn about their history and training, and watch them soar through the air. This hands-on experience offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature and learn more about these incredible birds.

Day 3 - Tuesday 12th May - Stories and Sheepdogs

After a leisurely breakfast at the castle, we set off into the untamed beauty of Connemara, a land of windswept coastline, glassy lakes, and endless stone-walled fields. Cycle quiet backroads past peat bogs and sheep-covered hills, exploring charming fishing villages, stoping for some refreshments at a local pub and enjoying the stunning vistas around every corner.

Later this afternoon, we a visit a working sheep farm. While you watch the brilliant sheepdogs work the flock, chat to the local farmer about a life spent on the rugged west coast before returning to Ashford Castle.

Opt to return to Conneara, where you can spend another day in the saddle or try your hand at fishing on a secluded loch, guided by a local angler. Stop in the village of Roundstone or Clifden, or explore local arts and crafts studios, chat with artisans, or relax with a pint in a cosy pub where traditional Irish music plays all afternoon.

Alternatively, stay on site in the glorious Ashford Castle, where you can unwind with a spa treatment, stroll the manicured grounds, or avail yourself of some of the other on-site activities available. As the sun sets, enjoy a refined dinner in the castle’s formal dining room or a more casual meal in the historic Dungeon.

Day 6 - Friday 15th May - Golf Legends & Local Life

Today offers two distinct paths—whether you’re chasing legendary fairways or diving into the charm and culture of the Irish countryside.

For golf enthusiasts, the day presents a rare treat: tee off at Adare Manor, host of the upcoming 2027 Ryder Cup, where immaculate parkland greens meet five-star luxury and historic elegance. Or, for those craving dramatic links play and Atlantic views, journey west to Ballybunion, one of Ireland’s most revered seaside courses, known for its rugged beauty and technical challenge. Either option promises a memorable round steeped in prestige and Irish golfing heritage.

For non-golfers, a range of tailored experiences awaits. Stay local and explore the storybook village of Adare, with its thatched cottages, artisan shops, and centuries-old charm. Or venture into the Limerick countryside by bike, winding past farms, stone walls, and riverside paths for a relaxing outdoor escape.

Prefer something hands-on? Join a cooking workshop, where a local chef will guide you through traditional Irish recipes with a modern twist—learning, tasting, and sharing stories along the way.

As your journey through Ireland nears its end, today offers a graceful finale with three elegant options—each reflecting a different mood and pace.

You may choose to indulge in a second night at the magnificent Ballyfin, nestled in the foothills of the Slieve Bloom Mountains. Spend the day savouring the estate’s quiet luxury—explore the 614 acres by bike or horse-drawn carriage, enjoy a whiskey tasting in the cellar, or simply relax in your beautifully appointed suite, a book in hand and views of the tranquil lake outside your window.

Alternatively, opt for a second night stay at the stately Cashel Palace. Here you might visit the Rock of Cashel, enjoy an afternoon in the spa, or stroll the heritage town, followed by dinner in the hotel’s Michelin-recognised restaurant.

Or, if your travels are drawing to a close, transfer to Dublin and closer to the airport ahead of a next-day departure or to begin your journey home refreshed and unrushed.
