Day by Day

Day 1 - Saturday 27th July - Welcome to Edinburgh

On arrival at Edinburgh airport you will be met by your private transfer driver and whisked into the heart of the city and your boutique accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, you may wish to head out and explore the winding alleys and cobblestone streets. Full of history, the capital is very accessible by foot. Wander up the Royal Mile, visiting St Giles’ Cathedral (which has been a working church for over 900 years) and Edinburgh Castle, which offers sweeping views over the city.

Day 2 - Sunday 28th July - Edinburgh City Highlights

This morning you will be met at your hotel by a local guide who will lead you on a private walking tour exploring the traces of magic that linger in all the cobbled streets and alleys of Edinburgh’s Old Town. You will visit some of the famous sights as well as discovering some lesser known gems. In the afternoon you can choose to walk the ramparts of Edinburgh Castle, discover the Georgian opulence of the New Town or go aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia, once the floating palace of Queen Elizabeth II and The Duke of Edinburgh.

Day 3 - Monday 29th July - Transfer to Perthshire

A private transfer will collect you from your hotel this morning and you will set off on the next part of your adventure. Just a short drive across the bridge you will arrive in the heart of the Perthshire countryside and the opulent estate of Gleneagles. The afternoon is completely free to enjoy some of the many activities they offer on site or perhaps just relax by the pool and take advantage of the spa. Tonight you can dine in one of the many restaurants and perhaps take a stroll after dinner to gaze at the starlit sky.

Day 4 - Tuesday 30th July - The Valley of Glencoe

The morning can be spent enjoying more activities on the estate or relaxing with a good book before your driver guide collects you at lunchtime. Setting off on your Highland adventure you will head west through Loch Lomond National Park towards the towering peaks of Glencoe that rise up from the valley floor and may look familiar from film franchises. Here you can enjoy a gentle walk, perhaps to where (legend has it) the signal was given to start the Glencoe Massacre or around the shimmering lochans beneath the tall branches of the Scots Pine. Tonight you will rest your head with the sound of the water lapping against the shoreline at your boutique hotel on the shores of the most famous loch in Scotland.

Day 5 - Wednesday 31st July - Lochs and Castle's

You will set out this morning to scan the deep dark waters for signs of the elusive monster. Enjoy a thrilling Zodiac Boat ride, with the wind in your hair. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife on the way up the loch to see the imposing ruins of Urquhart Castle before returning safely to the shore. This afternoon your guide will take you on a cycle along part of the Great Glen Way, delight in views of the Caledonian Canal and the surrounding woodlands. Later, return to your hotel to relax for the evening.

Day 6 - Thursday 1st August - Battlefields and Travel to London

For your final morning on Scottish soil, you will visit the emotive Culloden Battlefield where the fight that changed the course of Scottish history took place in under 60 minutes. Standing on this lonely expanse, you can imagine what it was like for Bonnie Prince Charlie’s men on that fateful April day in 1746 as your guide weaves the tales of this time and the impact it had on life as we know it today. This afternoon you will catch the short flight to London where your private transfer will be waiting to whisk you into the heart of the city to relax at your hotel before setting out to explore tomorrow.

Day 7 - Friday 2nd August - London City Highlights

Embarking on a tour of London your experienced guide will take you on a journey through history, culture and modern vibrancy all in one. The iconic landmarks of the city, such as the majestic Big Ben, the historic Tower of London, and the grandeur of Buckingham Palace, will serve as a poignant reminder of the rich past as you hear stories that echo of centuries past. This afternoon is free to explore further, visit the Natural History Museum or choose to enjoy the world class shopping on Oxford Street, or just watch the comings and goings of this incredible city. Tonight you can chose to dine in one of the many delicious eateries in the city or head to the west end to enjoy a toe tapping show or a thrilling mystery – the choice is yours!

Day 8 - Saturday 3rd August - Foodie Tour and London Eye

Get to know the real London as you discover a local food market with your knowledgeable guide. End your time in London with a breathtaking journey that offers panoramic views of the British Capital’s iconic skyline. Stepping into the iconic capsule of the London Eye, anticipation building as you slowly and gently ascend, you can’t help but be captivated by the view that unfolds.
