On arrival at the airport you will be met by a private driver who will transfer you to your city centre hotel. Depending on your arrival time you can choose to relax at the hotel or head out to start exploring this unique city.

This morning immerse yourselves in the winding cobbled streets of historic Old Town Edinburgh as you enjoy a private morning walking tour with an expert local guide. Discover the highlights of this unique capital as you wander up the ‘Royal Mile’ to the mighty ancient fortress which is Edinburgh Castle itself. Walk the ramparts atop castle rock and hear the tales of the One O’Clock gun and the stories of locals of times past.
At lunchtime you will meet your main Guide and sit down to chat about the upcoming adventures over lunch. This afternoon is flexible depending on your preferences. Maybe head up to the nearby summit of Arthur’s Seat with your guide to gain a fabulous perspective on the city skyline, or take in more of the clean lines of the ‘New Town’ streets. Or simply shop for souvenirs and relax, the choice is yours.

This morning start your journey north with your guide, heading to St Andrews in the Kingdom of Fife. Enjoy exploring this characterful university town, full of history and stories. More recently the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge famously met during their studies here.
However, St Andrews is much better known for being the ‘birthplace of golf’, and you will see nods to ‘the great game’ all over the town. Join a knowledgeable local golf guide for a tour of ‘The Old Course’ this afternoon for some fascinating insights into the legends of the game here.

Today head out to explore part of the Fife Coastal Trail with your guide. Your walk today will take you along the “Fringe Of Gold”, as the Fife beaches are known, and through traditional villages which are built around tiny fishing harbours. These are all wonderfully picturesque with wee stone houses keeping watch over the brightly painted fishing vessels in the harbours, so make sure that you have your camera handy!
Don’t forget to stop along the way and celebrate your walk with a delicious meal of traditional Fish & Chips. With fresh fish straight out of the sea, this area has won multiple awards for this Scottish dish and is famous for having some of the best in the whole of the UK! At the end of the day your guide will then take you back to your hotel for a free evening

Today you head north over the ‘snow roads’ into the beautiful Cairngorms National Park, and your guide will bring the scenery to life for you as you travel. After lunch head out for your first on foot explorations of the area, maybe taking a walk to a local beauty spot which was a favourite picnic spot of Queen Victoria. This evening settle into your unique and opulent hotel, full of art and conversation pieces.

Enjoy a full day hiking and exploring the mountains and rivers of beautiful Deeside area with your expert guide, who will tailor the day to your preference. You will be spoilt for choice with all the possible routes but together with your guide you will decide on an option which suits your preferred level of challenge (and energy!), and the weather.
Maybe explore the woodland trails and pyramids of the beautiful Balmoral Estate, the Highland residence of the Royal Family since it was bought for Queen Victoria in 1852. Or choose to hike up into the atmospheric crags and corries of Lochnagar mountain which Lord Byron immortalised in verse, including the line “I sigh for the valley of dark Lochnagar”.

Set out into the whisky hills to a private remote kitchen this morning and spend a fascinating day in the home and kitchen of the charismatic writer, broadcaster and ‘food anthropologist’ Ghillie Basan. Set in an idyllic location you will discover a colourful and well stocked kitchen with inspiring views over the local hills. Ghillie will guide you in cooking a delicious feast (including local ingredients foraged from the surrounding hills) while you share stories and learn about the dishes you are creating. This is an experience you are sure to treasure for a lifetime.

Today the rugged West coast is calling you, and your guide will share some of the fascinating stops and stories along the way. Stop at Blair Atholl to walk the hallways and gardens of a castle that has been inhabited by the Dukes of Atholl for over seven centuries and boasts some fine 18th century interiors within its Scottish baronial architecture. There are also many superb options for scenic leg stretches as you admire the scenery becoming more mountainous on the way to the warm Scottish welcome of Glencoe House and your luxurious suites.

The dramatic mountains and ridges of Glencoe have featured as the backdrop in many films and once you are looking up at these summits it is easy to see why! Today you will explore this famous valley with your guide, there are plenty of options to suit every level of energy and challenge. After your hike settle down with a celebratory beverage in a traditional climbers pub and listen to local legends and fascinating tales of the dark past of Glencoe told by a local storyteller.

Heading south today your route takes you over the sweeping expanse of Rannoch Moor and then follows alongside part of the classic West Highland Way hike which takes determined hikers 96 miles through wild landscapes. There are many options for a hike on route, or you could choose to arrive in Glasgow a little earlier to look around the city if you wish. After seeing you safely to your hotel your guide will depart, leaving you to enjoy the last night of your trip togther. We are sure you will have many tales to toast!
