Day 14 - Friday 24th October - Edinburgh Bound

Day 15 - Saturday 25th October - Exploring Edinburgh

This morning immerse yourselves in the winding cobbled streets of historic Old Town Edinburgh as you enjoy a private walking tour with an expert local guide. Discover the highlights of this unique capital city from the Palace of Holyroodhouse all the way up the ‘Royal Mile’ to the mighty ancient fortress which is Edinburgh Castle itself. Day 16 - Sunday 26th October - The East Neuk of Fife

Today you will make your way to the iconic university town of St Andrews.  As you make your way north, step into the traditional fishing villages of the East Neuk.  Now popular with artists and writers, these villages are full of hidden gems to explore, from cosy cafes to spectacular coastal walks and home some of the best fish and chips in Scotland!

Arriving in St Andrews, you are free to settle in to your accommodation, a haven of peace where you can relax by the fireside, or stroll through the lovely gardens.

Day 17 - Monday 27th October - Round of Golf at St Andrews & Afternoon Explorations

Follow in the footsteps of legends as you play one of Scotland’s most iconic links courses. This course is ranked as one of the best in the world and you are sure to delight in the challenge of these iconic fairways, embracing the sea views with every turn.

If you have some energy this afternoon why not explore this historic university town with your guide.  Wander the cobbled streets and walled gardens to really get a feel for the history of this seaside town.  See where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge used to take their morning coffee, visit the cathedral and take a walk along the East Sands where the opening sequence of the famous film Chariots of Fire was filmed.

Day 18 - Tuesday 28th October - A journey into the Heart of the Cairngorms

Today you will journey northwards into the Heart of the Cairngorms National Park, your Highland home for the next few nights.  En-route you’ll venture out to Glamis Castle, one of Scotland’s most storied and picturesque castles. Tour the castle and ground with your main guide. Explore the castle’s opulent rooms and expansive grounds, delving into its history as the childhood home of the Queen Mother and its connections to Shakespeare’s Macbeth. The tour provides a rich narrative of Scottish nobility and architecture.

Arriving at your cosy hotel, why not enjoy a warming dram by the fireside.

Day 19 - Wednesday 29th October - A Royal Connection

Head to the sparkling waters of Loch Muick in the Balmoral Estate where the mountains of the Cairngorms rise up from the loch shores.  Enjoy a hike in this beautiful location that has a long standing association with the British Royal family and a pretty hunting lodge built for Queen Victoria sits on the northern shore.

In the afternoon enjoy a tour and tasting at the Royal Lochnagar Distillery, which was issued a Royal Warrant by Queen Victoria in 1848. You may also have a chance to stop and see Crathie Kirk, which is a tiny church that is the regular place of worship for the Royal family when they are in residence at Balmoral Castle.

Day 20 - Thursday 30th October - The ancient art of Wood Craft

On the way to your next stop in the Capital of the Highlands, you will explore the ancient craft of wood whittling – One of the forgotten arts which local craftsmen are resurrecting across the country.  Meet a local woodman this morning who will share the traditional skills of this lost art and show you how to carve your own unique piece.  Listen to his stories about life in the Cairngorms as you work, with just the sound of the birds and the breeze in the trees for company.

Day 21 - Friday 31st October - Round of Golf at Cabot & Historic Culloden

Surrounded by the breathtaking Scottish scenery you will enjoy another incredible game of Golf today.  Hugging the shoreline of the stunning Moray Firth, this unique course offers fairways and greens set within the rugged natural landscapes, offering an equally challenging yet enjoyable experience.

On the way back to your hotel, why not explore Culloden Battlefield, the site of the last battle of the Jacobite rising in 1746.  Hear stories of this historic battle from one of the local guides before heading to the site of three Bronze Age burial chambers and standing stones known as Clava Cairns. This site is exceptionally well preserved and a great example of prehistoric history in Scotland dating back over 4,000 years.

Day 22 - Saturday 1st November - The Misty Isle & Castles

Enjoy some fabulous scenery as you make your way to Skye today, passing the deep waters of Loch Ness and through steep sided mountain glens on the way. Stop to explore the elegant Eilean Donan castle, set out on the water on a private island and surrounded by majestic scenery. You will then continue onwards, passing over the graceful arc of the Skye Bridge onto ‘the misty isle’ itself and carrying on to your lovely hotel which enjoys views over the harbour town of Portree.

Day 23 - Sunday 2nd November - Guided Explorations on the Isle of Skye

Day 24 - Monday 3rd November - Road to the Isles

Today you’ll travel along the stunning Road to the Isles as you head back to the mainland. This is frequently listed as one of the most beautiful drives in the world and it is easy to see why. Admire the silver sand beaches of Arisaig and the views into the distance of Skye and the small isles. Day 25 - Tuesday 4th November - Journey through the Valley of Glencoe

Your main driver guide will meet you at your hotel this morning and you will set off for the vibrant city of Glasgow. As you make your way through the beautiful scenery you will arrive in the valley of Glencoe.  Formed of sharp ridges and peaks shaped by volcanoes, Glencoe has a turbulent and troubled past with layers of history to discover.  Your guide will discuss all the options for hikes today – from hidden valleys to secret glens, there are many choices where you can get off the beaten track and hear stories about the tragic past of this beautiful area.
