Day by Day

Day 1 - Monday 2nd December - Travel to Glencoe

Meet your main driver guide this morning and make your way to historic Glencoe. En-route stop in the Trossachs National Park and enjoy a unique guided meditation or yoga experience with naughty & sleepy sheep!

Day 2 - Tuesday 3rd December - Explore the West Highlands

Today you have the full day in the hills, your guide will lead you on a hike through the atmospheric landscapes of Glencoe. The route for this day will be discussed with your guide the evening before, to take in consideration of the weather and the terrain you would like to cover. This can be a short walk in the valleys or a more challenging walk to a summit.

This evening meet a local storyteller at a traditional walkers tavern. Sit back with a wee dram and let the tales of days gone by wash over you as you immerse yourselves in the rich history of this ancient land before heading to your luxurious accommodation for the night.

Day 3 - Wednesday 4th December - Over the Sea to Skye

Transfer to the Isle of Skye. If the weather is good, take the iconic road to the isles and the ferry over the sea to Skye. If the weather doesn’t allow, take the sweeping bridge to Skye, stopping en-route to visit the highly photographed Eilean Donan Castle. Arrive in Portree to settle in to your hotel and explore this beautiful harbour town.

Day 4 - Thursday 5th December - Wild Walking

This morning you will meet with a local Ghillie and head off the beaten track to an idyllic spot, with first hand benefit of the Ghillie’s insider knowledge. Together you will spend time searching for wild foods and tasting your discoveries amongst the dramatic landscapes and fresh sea air, something sure to delight the senses.

If you have the energy this afternoon, enjoy one of the many spectacular hikes in the area with your guide.

Day 5 - Friday 6th December - The Magical Isle of Skye

Enjoy a morning boat trip looking for local wildlife including seals and sea eagles as you explore the sound of Raasay. Back on dry land explore some of the local artists and craft shops that litter this tiny island. Later, enjoy an intimate knitting session with a local artisan, where you’ll be guided through a tapestry of traditional and modern techniques, weaving together stories, stitches, and the rich heritage of Scotland’s crafting culture.

This evening why not enjoy the peace in your hotel and relax with a warming drink looking out at the incredible view of the water.

Day 6 - Saturday 7th December - Castle and Lochs

Returning to the mainland this morning, by way of the graceful Skye bridge, it is not long before you see one of the prettiest castles in Scotland. Eilean Donan occupies an island at the confluence of three sea lochs and stands in defiance of the towering peaks surrounding it. Take your time here to explore and enjoy the iconic view before continuing onwards through mountain glens. Travel by the picturesque lochs before reaching the Cairngorms National Park, to bask in the scenery. Your guide will then take you to your accommodation, before wishing you farewell and leaving you to relax and make the most of your final night at your castle retreat.

Day 7 - Sunday 8th December - Depart

A private transfer will collect you from your hotel this morning to take you to Edinburgh Airport in time for your departing flight.
