It lies almost exactly halfway between Shetland and Orkney. Despite the tiny size of this island, it is big in character with stunning landscapes and lots of birdlife to admire. Renowned as a place to see wildlife, there are lots of other things to discover with your guide, from archaeological remains and meeting local craftspeople to the famous Stevenson lighthouses.

On your onward journey, there will be more chances to spot wildlife such as Puffins, Guillemots, Gannets and perhaps even porpoises and orcas off the coast. Enjoy in the abundance of fresh local seafood and pick up gifts and mementoes from the island that you would like to return home with. At the height of summer, the sun never truly sets in Shetland. Instead, when it does briefly dip there is a magical milky glow known locally as ‘da simmer dim’.
