Day by Day

Day 1 - Monday 7th July - Welcome to Scotland

On arrival at the airport you will be met by a private driver who will transfer you to your city centre hotel. Depending on your arrival time you can choose to relax at the hotel or head out to start exploring this unique city.

Day 2 - Tuesday 8th July - Exploring Edinburgh

This morning immerse yourselves in the winding cobbled streets of historic Old Town Edinburgh as you enjoy a private walking tour with an expert local guide. Discover the highlights of this unique capital city from the Palace of Holyroodhouse all the way up the ‘Royal Mile’ to the mighty ancient fortress which is Edinburgh Castle itself. Walk the ramparts atop castle rock and hear the tales of the One O’Clock gun and the stories of locals of times past. Your guide will leave you here so that you can spend as much time in the castle as you wish.

You then have a free afternoon to continue explorations at your own pace, pick up souvenirs or relax as you prefer before ending the afternoon exploring the eerie depths of Edinburgh’s vaults on a private tour, delving into the city’s dark and mysterious history beneath its ancient streets.

Day 3 - Wednesday 9th July - Journey north to the Highland Capital

Meet your main guides for the trip this morning and commence your journey to Inverness.  As you leave the capital city behind, you will notice the scenery change from lowland rolling hills, to ancient pine forest and finally to the rugged peaks of the Highlands.  There are many options to stop en-route, perhaps experience the epitome of Scottish luxury shopping at the House of Bruar.  Indulge in a wide array of premium Scottish goods, from traditional tartan clothing and fine knitwear to gourmet foods and artisanal whiskies.  You can also take a short walk here through a pine forest to the beautiful falls of Bruar.

As you make your way into the Cairngorm National Park, why not visit to the fascinating recreated historic buildings at the Highland Folk Museum, featured in the series Outlander, before continuing north.

This evening is free for you to explore the lovely city of Inverness or just rest and relax at your luxury accommodation, perhaps enjoying a warming dram.

Day 4 - Thursday 10th July - Royal Dornoch Golf

After a restful night, you will make your way to the iconic golf course of Royal Dornoch.  Nestled along the stunning coastline of the Scottish Highlands, this historic links course captivates with its rugged terrain, undulating fairways and challenging greens.

Enjoy the day navigating this beautiful course, testing your skills as you are treated to breathtaking views of the Dornoch Firth.

Head back to your luxury hotel this evening, sharing stories of a great day golfing at one of the most famous courses in Scotland.

Drive time from Ness Walk to Royal Dornoch Golf Club is approximately 1hr 15 mins depending on traffic.

Day 5 - Friday 11th July - Golf, Spa and Explorations

Today some of the group head off with their driver guide for another day testing their golfing skills at the iconic Cabot (Formally Castle Stuart) Course in the heart of the Highlands.

The rest of the group can choose to make use of the luxury spa facilities at Ness Walk’s sister hotel in Inverness or perhaps head out to explore the city or the local coastline with your guide, learning about the Highland capital’s rich history dating back centuries.  The choice is yours.

Gather together this evening and enjoy sharing the stories of your day.

Drive time from Ness Walk to Cabot Golf Course is approximately 30 minutes depending on traffic.

Day 6 - Saturday 12th July - Loch Ness & Culloden

After a hearty breakfast you’ll set out to explore some of Scotland’s history starting at Culloden Battlefield, the site of the last battle of the Jacobite rising in 1746. Here you will take a private tour of the battlefield and the visitor centre before heading to the site of three Bronze Age burial chambers and standing stones known as Clava Cairns. This site is exceptionally well preserved and a great example of prehistoric history in Scotland dating back over 4,000 years.

For your final night in the Highland you will visit the iconic Loch Ness, home of the fabled Loch Ness Monster!  You will board your own private boat to enjoy a 2 hour scenic cruise with champagne and canapés looking for the fabled monster and hearing stories of the myths and legends that are woven into the very fabric of life in the hills all around you.   The perfect way to end this part of your Scottish adventure.

Day 7 - Sunday 13th July - Transfer to Gleneagles & Whisky Distillery

Leaving the Highlands behind you will make your way to Perthshire, in the heart of Scotland.  On the way there are plenty of options to stop for a short scenic walk to stretch your legs, enjoying the fresh mountain air.

As you near your destination enjoy a whisky tasting and distillery tour at one of Scotlands best and oldest distilleries, dating back to 1798.  Nestled in the picturesque town of Pitlochry, this historic distillery invites you to immerse yourself in the time-honoured traditions and craftsmanship that go into creating Scotland’s beloved spirit.

Arriving at the iconic Gleneagles resort, you are free to rest and relax or head out to explore the exquisite grounds.

Day 8 - Monday 14th July - Golf at Gleneagles

You will all enjoy an incredible day of golf today at “The Glorious Playground”.  There are 3 outstanding courses to choose from, including the PGA championship course that has hosted the famous Ryder Cup.

Each course offers its own unique challenges and stunning views of the Perthshire countryside, whichever you choose to play you are sure to have an incredible game of golf.

Day 9 - Tuesday 15th July - Exploring St Andrews

Today you will head out to explore the beautiful city of St Andrews.  You will start with a walking tour of St Andrews, a historic university town where the Prince and Princess of Wales famously met during their studies there. St Andrews is also famed for being the home of golf, perhaps head down to the coast and walk alongside the iconic Old Course.

As you make your way back to your hotel, perhaps take a slightly longer route which takes you past the traditional fishing villages of the East Neuk area, now popular with artists and writers. Sampling traditional fish and chips here is a must! 

Your guides will leave you once they have dropped you back at the hotel so you can enjoy the last day indulging in everything Gleneagles has to offer.

Day 10 - Wednesday 16th July - Gleneagles Golf & Free time

Some of the group enjoy another day on the iconic golf courses at Gleneagles.  Perhaps try a different course this time and see how they compare.

The rest of the group are free to enjoy the world class facilities at your hotel.  Perhaps enjoy a luxurious spa treatment or enjoy one of the many activities on offer, including falconry, biking and guided walks.

Gather together this evening for a final dinner together and to raise a glass to your Scottish adventure.

Day 11 - Thursday 17th July - Depart

Your private transfers will collect you from your accommodation and take you to the airport to make your onward connections. Waving farewell for now but taking with you special memories and wonderful stories of your explorations.
