Day by Day

Day 1 - Sunday 7th April - Welcome to Scotland

On arrival at the airport you will be met by a private driver who will transfer you to your city centre hotel. Depending on your arrival time you can choose to relax at the hotel or head out to start exploring this unique city.

Day 2 - Monday 8th April - Exploring Edinburgh

This morning immerse yourselves in the winding cobbled streets of historic Old Town Edinburgh as you enjoy a private walking tour with an expert local guide. Discover the highlights of this unique capital city from the Palace of Holyroodhouse all the way up the ‘Royal Mile’ to the mighty ancient fortress which is Edinburgh Castle itself. Walk the ramparts atop castle rock and hear the tales of the One O’Clock gun and the stories of locals of times past. Your guide will leave you here so that you can spend as much time in the castle as you wish.

You then have a free afternoon to continue explorations at your own pace, pick up souvenirs or relax as you prefer.

Day 3 - Tuesday 9th April - Kilts and Cookery

Head to the Royal Mile this morning to meet a local kilt maker whose family has been in the trade for two generations.  Hear his story about what makes his kilts different and see the workshop before perhaps getting measured up for your very own Scottish masterpeice.  The rest of the day is free to explore the city with your guide or simply relax at the hotel and take advantage of the lovely spa facilities that are situated down in the old bank vaults!

This evening, you will head out to a local cookery school to test your culinary skills while you create your very own private dinner – a fantastic way to end your time in Edinburgh.

Day 4 - Wednesday 10th April - Round of Golf at St Andrews & Afternoon Explorations

Today you explore the historic and world famous university town of St Andrews in the Kingdom of Fife. Recently remembered as the place in which the Prince and Princess of Wales met during their time studying here. However St Andrews is much better known for being the ‘birthplace of golf’ and today you will have the opportunity to tee off on a fabulous links course on the same coastline as ‘The Old Course’. Enjoy the history and coastal views of a superb round of golf and maybe a chat with the local players.

After a fabulous day, you will head to your next accommodation – the fabulous playground of Gleneagles where you can indulge in some award winning food before resting your heads after a busy day.

Day 5 - Thursday 11th April - Exploring Perthshire

Stirling is home to some of the most important buildings in Scottish history, from the castle that sits proudly overlooking the town, to the monument erected to one of Scotlands most loved heros. Spend the morning visiting some of these sites before heading to a different kind of Scottish experience.  Step into a world colours, textures and artistic expression as you embark on a short taster session to try your hand this this ancient craft.  Under the the expert eye of one of the Radical Weavers, you will create your own masterpiece to take home with you as a souvenir.

Before returning to Gleneagles, you will end the day at a local whisky distillery for a tour and tasting of the famous Uisge Beatha before your guide takes you back to your accommodation for the night.

Day 6 - Friday 12th April - Indulge at Gleneagles

Today, you will stay local and indulge in all that Gleneagles has to offer. After breakfast, make your way through the hotel to the tranquility of the spa or take some time out for a little retail therapy in the beautiful arcade situated inside the hotel. If you are feeling adventurous, there are many experiences you can pre-book from tennis to falconry, archery or 4×4 off roading. Not forgetting the numerous dining options from casual lunch options to fine Scottish fare, you will be spoilt for choice. Today is your day to explore the wonders of a place that truly demonstrates the best Scotland has to offer.

Day 7 - Saturday 13th April - Depart Edinburgh

After breakfast, a private transfer will collect you from Gleneagles and take you to Edinburgh airport to make your onward connections. Waving farewell to Scotland for now but taking with you special memories and wonderful stories of your explorations.
