Day by Day

Day 1 - Sunday 7th July - Welcome To Scotland!

On arrival at Edinburgh Airport you will be met by your private driver/guide and head directly towards the peaceful Highland landscape. Your guide is also a qualified hiking guide, so depending on your arrival time there may be an opportunity for a hike along the way as drive time is only around 1.5 hrs. Or you could choose a less active exploration with a visit to Scone Palace, with its beautiful Murray Star Maze in the gardens. On arrival at your welcoming castle hotel  settle in to enjoy a relaxing evening.

Day 2 - Monday 8th July - Hiking & Exploring In The Highlands

Today you have a full hiking and exploring the local area with your guide, who will share some of the local’s favourites with you. There are a multitude of superb routes in the area, so discuss the options with your guide and maybe even bag a wee Highland summit if the weather and your energy levels are on board. No matter what you choose you are sure to have a brilliant day hiking the Highlands.

Day 3 - Tuesday 9th July - Loch Kayaking Adventure & Glenturret Distillery Tour

Dress for adventure this morning as you head south to Edinburgh, as you will be taking to the waters of a sparking loch in kayaks (or open canoes if you prefer). Explore the shorelines and exercise your paddling skills under the watchful eye of a qualified local guide, and stop for a scenic picnic and hot drinks along the way.

Once back on the shore head to the oldest working whisky distillery in Scotland for a special tour and tasting (drams for adults only), immersing yourselves in the history of ‘the water of life’. Then you could choose to enjoy a wander in the charming small market town of Crieff, or head directly to Edinburgh to settle into your city centre hotel and enjoy a relaxed afternoon.

Day 4 - Wednesday 10th July - Hike Fife Coastal Trail & Distillery Tour

Hike along the coastline with your guide today, following the Fife Coastal Trail between charming Fishing villages (with award-winning ‘fish & chips’). Enjoy lovely views back to Edinburgh and finish with a wander around the university town of St Andrews. On your return to Edinburgh celebrate your adventures with a tour of the fresh new distillery at Holyrood to finish the day. Once you embark on this your guide will depart leaving you to enjoy the rest of the day yourselves. This could also be a great evening to enjoy a special meal at The iconic Scottish Malt Whisky Society complete with matched drams.

Day 5 - Thursday 11th July - Historic Edinburgh

This morning immerse yourselves in the winding cobbled streets of historic Old Town Edinburgh as you enjoy a private walking tour with an expert local guide. Discover the highlights of this unique capital city from the Palace of Holyroodhouse all the way up the ‘Royal Mile’ to the mighty ancient fortress which is Edinburgh Castle itself. Walk the ramparts atop castle rock and hear the tales of the One O’Clock gun and the stories of locals of times past. Your guide will leave you here so that you can spend as much time in the castle as you wish. You then have a free afternoon to continue your explorations at your own pace, pick up souvenirs or relax as you prefer.

Day 6 - Friday 12th July - Depart - Farewell Scotland

A private transfer will collect you from your accommodation and take you to Edinburgh Airport to make your onward connections. Waving farewell for now but taking with you special memories and wonderful stories of your explorations.
