Begin your journey westward toward your first accommodation in County Galway. Along the way, we highly recommend a stop at Clonmacnoise, one of Ireland’s most important early Christian sites. Founded in the 6th century, this ancient monastic settlement is beautifully situated on the banks of the River Shannon and features iconic round towers, high crosses, and centuries-old ruins that offer a fascinating glimpse into Ireland’s spiritual past.
Upon arrival in Galway, take time to unwind—perhaps enjoy a gentle stroll into the nearby village or simply relax at your hotel.
In the evening, we suggest dining at one of the charming local restaurants for a warm welcome to the west of Ireland.
