Day by Day

Day 1 - Tuesday 6th February - Welcome to Edinburgh

On arrival at Edinburgh Airport, you will be met by a private chauffeur and transferred to your city centre accommodation. The rest of the day is free to relax and enjoy your stunning accommodation or explore the city.

Day 2 - Wednesday 7th February - Edinburgh Highlights and Champagne Afternoon Tea

Spend the morning exploring the unique city of Edinburgh with your guide who will take you on a walking tour to visit some of the famous historic attractions, wonder at the stories of the streets and discover the true character of the Old Town. Edinburgh is a labyrinth of cobbled alleyways contrasted with Georgian townhouses and more modern architecture and this tour will give you a real insight into the history and character of this amazing city.  This afternoon enjoy a sumptuous champagne afternoon tea to celebrate your anniversary at an iconic location in the City.

Day 3 - Thursday 8th February - Beautiful Perthshire & Stirling Castle

Today you will meet your main guide and we leave the bustling city, making our way to picturesque Perthshire.  Renowned for spectacular glens, serene rivers and rolling hills, driving through this stunning backdrop will have you captivated by the tapestry of Scotland’s natural beauty.  Stopping en-route at Stirling Castle provides an opportunity to explore the medieval architecture, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, while hearing stories of Stirling Castle’s role in Scotland’s tumultuous past.

Day 4 - Friday 9th February - Exploring Perthshire & Highland Safari

Today we will enjoy an extraordinary adventure into the heart of Scotland’s enchanting wilderness.  As you embark on your exclusive experience you will be greeted by your knowledgable Kilted Ranger who will take you on a tailored adventure into the magnificent Highlands.  You will encounter remote lochs, and misty glens while looking out for the local wildlife including red deer and golden eagles from the comfort of your private 4×4.  Top off the day with a warming dram back at your cosy accommodation, reminiscing of a day you will never forget!

Day 5 - Saturday 10th February - Hiking, relaxing and Chocolate!

Today is for you to choose how to enjoy.  Your guide will be with you to ensure you have the best experience possible, whether you choose to stay at your accommodation and relax or go on a more active hike.  If you prefer, you can visit a famous Highland Chocolatier, tasting the many mouthwatering delectable delights on offer.  The choice is yours.

Day 6 - Sunday 11th February - Arriving in the Cairngorms

Today we transfer to the beautiful Cairngorm National Park.  En route we will stop at the House of Bruar, a Scottish shopping experience that offers luxury and traditional Scottish goods, from high quality tweeds to gourmet delicacies.  As we continue to the Cairngorms, you will be surrounded by rugged mountains and a unspoiled wilderness.  Arriving at your boutique accommodation you can choose to relax and enjoy, or explore the surrounding area.

Day 7 - Monday 12th February - The Cairngorms & Reindeer

This morning you head up into the mountains for a very special experience, meeting the local reindeer herd! After a scenic hike through the heather you will arrive at the plateau where you are right in walking amongst the herd and hear how they live and breed in this wild arctic tundra landscape After meeting the cheeky reindeer your afternoon is free to explore the many hidden gems in this area including secluded lochs and ancient pine forests.

Day 8 - Tuesday 13th February - Private craftsmanship experience

Today you will enjoy a journey into the rare world of wood craftsmanship.  You will sit alongside a skilled artisan as he chisels and mallets raw wood into intricate works of art.  In your private session you will get hands on and learn the techniques of this ancient craft, transforming a simple piece of timber into a personalised creation that you can take with you as a memory of your experience.

Day 9 - Wednesday 14th February - Free morning & Distillery tour

This morning is yours to choose, you can enjoy a romantic and leisurely breakfast, savouring the delights of Scottish cuisine or take a hike in the incredible national park.  This afternoon you will take a voyage into the heart of Scotland’s whisky-making traditions.  From the moment you step inside the ancient stone walls, you are enveloped in a rich, earthy aroma of aging whisky.  A knowledgeable guide will lead you through the process with the tour culminating in a tasting room where you can savour the diverse flavours of one of Scotland’s finest single malts.

Day 10 - Thursday 15th February - Battlefields and Castles

Today we will transfer to Fort Augustus, stopping first at the incredible Culloden Battlefield, the site of the last battle of the Jacobite rising in 1746. Here you will take a private tour of the battlefield with one of their guides before heading to the site of three Bronze Age burial chambers and standing stones known as Clava Cairns. This site is exceptionally well preserved and a great example of prehistoric history in Scotland dating back over 4,000 years.  Arriving finally, at your lovely hotel on the banks of Loch Ness.

Day 11 - Friday 16th February - Free Day or Hiking

Today is free for you to choose, perhaps explore the Highland village of Fort Augustus with its captivating views of the Caledonian Canal on the banks of Loch Ness.  Stroll down the picturesque streets and stop in a cozy pub or take a peek in the charming shops.  If you feel more active, perhaps discuss a hike with your guide, you are spoiled for choice in the area with various levels of hikes available, most with incredible views over the iconic Loch.

Day 12 - Saturday 17th February - Loch Ness Cruise

Today we venture out to the fabled Loch Ness that has been visible from your accommodation, enticing you to explore further.  We will take a scenic boat trip out onto the dark waters of this infamous loch. Look out for wildlife such as feral goats, golden eagles and of course the elusive monster! The ruins of Castle Urquhart, best admired from the water, come into view as we travel further up the loch, this large castle has a rich and bloody past that dates back centuries. It was eventually destroyed by government troops so it could no longer be used as a stronghold by local clans.

Day 13 - Sunday 18th February - The Nevis Range & Glencoe

We will make our way to your next accommodation, a cosy inn hidden in spectacular Glencoe.  En-route we will enjoy a hike in the stunning Nevis range, you can choose the level of hike you want, but either way you will enjoy the beauty of the breathtaking landscapes, with the peaks of the UK’s highest mountain in the distance and the sound of cascading waterfalls never far away.

Day 14 - Monday 19th February - Free day - Relaxing or Explore Glencoe

Today you can choose how you spend your day.  You can choose to rest and relax at your cosy hotel, enjoying the beautiful views.  If you feel more active you can take a hike in the dramatic landscape that makes up Glencoe, where the tales of its tragic past almost come to life.   Your guide will bid you farewell at lunchtime today, leaving you at your hotel, where you can have a warming dram by the toasty fireside.

Day 15 - Tuesday 20th February - Farewell Scotland - Depart

A private transfer will collect you from your accommodation and take you to the Airport to make your onward connections.  Taking with you cherished memories of ancient clans, misty lochs, cozy firesides and the warm hospitality of new friends made.
