Day 4 - Friday 29th November - Killarney National Park & Killarney Town

Killarney National Park was the first National Park to be established in Ireland and was created when the Muckross Estate was donated to the state in 1932. Today the park encompasses 26,000 acres of mountains, woodlands, lakes, waterfalls and history. Along with your guide you will take a tour of Ross Castle – likely built by the Irish chieftain O’Donoghue Mór in the fifteenth century. Legend has it that O’Donoghue still slumbers under the waters of the lake. Every seven years, on the first morning of May, he rises on his magnificent white horse. If you manage to catch a glimpse of him you will enjoy good fortune for the rest of your life. Visit Muckross House and Torc Waterfall before taking a stroll around the vibrant Killarney town, known for its colourful storefronts, inviting pubs, and charming eateries. Head back to base this evening for dinner.

Day 5 - Saturday 30th November - Buffalo Farm Tour & Cheese Tasting, Evening Irish Storyteller

Learn all about a day in this farms life, meet the herd of Buffalos, chat about all things agriculture with John and finish with a spectacular tasting session of some fine Irish cheese, made right there on the farm. Back at your accommodation we have arranged a special ending to your family trip. In Ireland when someone is able to speak confidently we say they have the “gift of the gab”. Experience this first hand when a local storyteller joins you at your hotel. Enjoy tales about animals and birds, kings and warriors, saints and sinners, witches and magicians, pickpockets and ghosts, fairies and mermaids and mythical, mystical characters that inspire and captivate the imagination. Afterwards, your guides will join you for a farewell dinner.
