Day by Day
Day 1 - Friday 25th April - Welcome to Scotland
On arrival at the airport you will be met by your expert private guide, who will also be your driver for your adventure in Scotland.
Together, you will make your way on a scenic drive to the stunning Cairngorms National Park, home to mountains, lochs, ancient forests and amazing wildlife.
Along the way, stop in Dunkeld and Pitlochry, steeped in history, these little hamlets are the perfect places wander around the shops to pick up souvenirs, local crafts and sample some delicious bakery treats! Take a tour of Blair Castle, the home of the Atholl family for over seven centuries.
On arrival in the Cairngorms, settle into your Farmhouse accommodation and enjoy a beautiful home cooked meal before resting for the evening.

Day 2 - Saturday 26th April - Reindeers and Local Wildlife
This morning you will take a short hike up towards the Cairngorms Plateau where you will meet some furry friends. The Cairngorm Reindeer are the only free ranging reindeer in the UK and spend their time wandering through the sub-artic tundra of the Plateau feeding on the natural heather and lichen that are abundant here. Learn more about their habitat and lives here from their keepers and don’t forget to get the obligatory selfie with these cute animals.
The rest of the day is free to continue exploring the park with your guide. Perhaps take a hike to the green lochan, where legend has it the fairies come down to wash their clothes hence the colour of the water. Or maybe enjoy a circular walk around a local loch which has the ruins of a castle on an island. Your guide will tell you stories of the areas and regale you with some of the myths and legends that are woven into the very fabric of life here in the largest national park in the UK.
After an early dinner, you will experience the thrill of observing nocturnal animals in their natural habitat with a cool wildlife hide experience, providing a unique and unforgettable glimpse into the park’s vibrant ecosystem. See badgers, pinemartins, wild cats and perhaps even some bats as your eyes get accustomed to the gloom in this incredible experience.

Day 3 - Sunday 27th April - Scotland's History and Heritage
After breakfast, you will head north through the beauty of the national park following the ridge of the mountain line and the glittering river spey that weaves its way through on its way to the sea. Arriving in a remote part of the park you will enjoy a private visit to a local croft where two amazing women are working the land and creating an incredible story about re-wildling and sustainable farming. See the egg mobiles and learn why moving them around is good for both the chickens and the ground, meet their furry Highland Coos and their snuffling pigs as you take a walk through their epic landscape. Hear the stories of how the croft started and their plans for the future and how they are giving back to the land and the local community.
After enjoying lunch at a local eatery, you will visit the Highland Folk Museum, where you can step back in time and experience life in the Highlands from the 1700s to the 1960s. Visit the school and practice your handwriting, see the black houses and learn why they are called as such and even try your hand at dressing up in traditional highland dress.
In the evening, immerse yourself in Scottish culture with a storytelling session at your hotel, listening to tales of local folklore and legends, creating an unforgettable end to your day.

Day 4 - Monday 28th April - Discover the City of Edinburgh
Bidding farewell to your guide, depart from Kingussie by first class train and journey to Edinburgh, arriving around lunchtime. On arrival into the city your private transfer will take you to your hotel to drop you bags and meet your local city guide.
Embark on an afternoon walking tour of the historic city with an expert city guide for the afternoon. Explore the cobbled streets and alleys of the Royal Mile, visit the majestic Edinburgh Castle, and take in panoramic views of the city. Learn about Edinburgh’s rich history and vibrant culture from your knowledgeable guide before enjoying a relaxing evening in this enchanting city. Your guide will leave you at Mary Kings Close where you will take a tour of the hidden streets of the city and see how people used to live many years ago.
After a wonderful afternoon, head back to your hotel to freshen up and then head out to enjoy one of the many delicious eateries in the city and raise a glass to your Scottish Adventure.

Day 5 - Tuesday 29th April - Farewell to Scotland
A private transfer will collect you from your accommodation and take you to the airport to make your onward connections. Waving farewell for now but taking with you special memories and wonderful stories of your explorations.
