Day by Day

Day 1 - Thursday 26th June - Welcome to Scotland

On arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your friendly guide, who will also be your driver throughout the journey.  You will head out of the city and make your way toward Inverness, the capital of the Highlands.

As you travel through the heart of Scotland, you will have the chance to stop at Blair Atholl for a visit to the magnificent Blair Castle.  This historic estate has been home to the Atholl family for over seven centuries, with it’s rich heritage brought to life through captivating stories of politicians, soldiers, agriculturalists, and entrepreneurs.  Wander through the Castle’s elegant 18th century interiors and admire its striking Scottish baronial architecture, which offers a glimpse into the grandeur of a bygone era.  Enjoy a relaxed evening in your Luxury hotel, nestled on the banks of the River Ness perhaps raising a dram to your adventure ahead.

Day 2 - Friday 27th June - The Misty Isle

Today you will journey North through breathtaking scenery en-route to the legendary Isle of Skye.  Along the way, you will have the option to pause for a short hike, giving you a chance to stretch your legs and truly immerse yourself in the rugged Scottish landscape.  Your guide will recommend suitable trails based on the weather and your preferences.

A highlight of the day is a visit to Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotland’s most iconic landmarks.  Perched on the water at the meeting point of three sea lochs, the castle is surrounded by majestic, postcard-perfect scenery.  Take your time to explore this historic gem, soak up the spectacular views, and capture some unforgettable photos.

Afterward, you will receive a warm Highland welcome at your cosy hotel, your home for the next couple of nights – a perfect base for exploring the wonders of Skye.

Day 3 - Saturday 28th June - Guided Explorations on the Isle of Skye

Today you have a full day to explore some of the special corners of this magical island with your guide. You will be spoilt for choice with fascinating history and dramatic landscape on offer, with unique hiking routes through stark and unusual rock formations and sweeping coast and mountain views to enjoy in almost every direction. This ‘misty isle’ is also home to so many curious stories and legends of fairies and islander culture, your guide will share some of the best hidden gems and personalise the day to your interests.

Day 4 - Sunday 29th June - Road to the Isles

Heading back to the mainland, today you’ll travel along the stunning Road to the Isles. This is frequently listed as one of the most beautiful drives in the world and it is easy to see why. Admire the silver sand beaches of Arisaig and the views into the distance of Skye and the small isles. Your guide will share the tales of the local area as you go, making the landscape come alive with characters and events from the past.

You may wish to stop at the historic the Glenfinnan Viaduct, which you may well recognise from the Harry Potter films. Hear the tales of the Glenfinnan Monument and see if you can spot the Jacobite Steam Train puffing its way over the graceful arches of the viaduct.

Take a stroll on the white sand beaches of Arisaig and soak in the views of the Small Isles before continuing your journey.

Day 5 - Monday 30th June - Explore Glencoe

Your main guide will meet you at your hotel this morning and will guide you through the stunning scenery of Glencoe. These dramatic mountains and ridges have featured as the backdrop in many films and once you are looking up at these summits it is easy to see why! Today you will explore this famous valley with your guide, there are plenty of options to suit every level of energy and challenge. After your hike settle down with a celebratory beverage in a traditional climbers pub and listen to local legends and fascinating tales of the dark past of Glencoe told by a local storyteller.

Day 6 - Tuesday 1st July - Iconic Gleneagles & Stunning Loch Tay

As you bid farewell to the majestic Highlands today, your journey continues Southwards towards the iconic Gleneagles Hotel.  Watch as the dramatic, rugged peaks, turn to rolling hills, ancient pine forests and heather-clad moorlands.  Along the way, you will pause for a truly special experience – a private cruise on the breathtaking waters of Loch Tay.  Glide across the serene loch, surrounded by spectacular scenery, as your guide shares captivating tales of the region’s rich heritage, deep-rooted traditions and enchanting folklore.

Upon arrival at Gleneagles, your guide will say farewell, and the evening is yours to unwind and explore the exquisite grounds of this world-renowned retreat.  Whether you choose to stroll through the beautifully landscaped gardens, indulge in the hotel’s luxurious amenities, or simply relax and take in the elegance of your surroundings, your stay at Gleneagles promises to be an unforgettable experience.

Day 8 - Thursday 3rd July - Exploring Edinburgh

After enjoying the celebrations, a private transfer will meet you at the reception of the hotel and whisk you into the heart of the Cultural City of Edinburgh.  You will have some time to relax and settle in to your luxurious hotel.

This afternoon immerse yourselves in the winding cobbled streets of historic Old Town Edinburgh as you enjoy a private walking tour with an expert local guide. Discover the highlights of this unique capital city from the Palace of Holyroodhouse all the way up the ‘Royal Mile’ to the mighty ancient fortress which is Edinburgh Castle itself. Walk the ramparts atop castle rock and hear the tales of the One O’Clock gun and the stories of locals of times past. Your guide will leave you here so that you can spend as much time in the castle as you wish.

Day 9 - Friday 4th July - The Home of Golf - Iconic St Andrews

Today your local expert driver guide will meet you at your accommodation then you transfer north to the Kingdom of Fife.   Your guide will take you to one of Scotland’s most iconic Links Courses.  Offering a challenging layout that tests golfers of all skill levels, you will enjoy a round surrounded by the beauty of the North Sea coastline.

After your round, and if there is time, enjoy a walking tour of St Andrews, a historic university town where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge famously met during their studies there.  On the way back to Edinburgh, discover the traditional fishing villages of the East Neuk area, now popular with artists and writers. Sampling traditional fish and chips here is a must!

Day 10 - Saturday 5th July - Self Exploration and A Hidden Gem

This morning is free for you to continue exploring the historic capital. Perhaps stroll down to the Waters of Leith, meandering your way along the river to the beautiful Dean Village and looking out for the solitary statues that stand silently in the water. Pick up a fresh coffee and a buttery pastry from one of the many independent cafes as you browse the art galleries, booksellers and artisanal food shops.

Late afternoon you will discover yet another side of Edinburgh as you adventure down underneath Edinburgh on a private underground tour of a warren of tiny fascinating streets dating from the 17th century.

Day 11 - Sunday 6th July - Depart
