Packed with history and tradition, your days are spent exploring Ireland’s iconic landmarks and hidden gems — from ancient castles and sacred monastic sites to Georgian streetscapes and revolutionary-era corners in cities like Dublin, and Belfast. Even the smallest towns hold deep stories, where centuries of folklore, music, and community traditions live on.

Day 5 - Thursday 17th July - Head West

This morning, with your guide, head from Dublin to County Clare, home to Ireland’s famed Cliffs of Moher. En route, stop at the ancient monastic site of Clonmacnoise. St. Ciarán founded his monastery on the banks of the River Shannon in the 6th century. The monastery flourished and became a great seat of learning—a university of its time—with students from all over Europe. Today, the ruins include a cathedral, two round towers, three high crosses, nine churches, and over 700 Early Christian grave slabs.

Continue westward to the dramatic Cliffs of Moher, where sheer rock faces rise over 700 feet above the Atlantic Ocean. Take in sweeping views of the Aran Islands and the rugged coastline, and enjoy time to explore the visitor centre and coastal paths. This iconic landscape is one of Ireland’s most breathtaking natural wonders and a must-see on any journey through the west.

Day 6 - Friday 18th July - The Aran Islands

It’s hard to resist the allure of one of the many islands that dot the Irish coastline and today you and your guide will take to the water and ferry to The Aran Islands. The history of these islands goes back millennia and today Gaelic is still the daily spoken language of the inhabitants. The Aran islands seem to defy their size by all they have to offer: breathtaking scenery, mediaeval castles, cliffs and prehistoric forts are all to be found on this little group of islands.

Inis Mór, the largest of the three islands, is your destination today. The first port of call is a goat farm, here Gabriel, fisherman-come-goat farmer and island native will introduce you to his flock of extraordinarily cute goats. You’ll taste his award-winning cheese, but more importantly, you will leave with his wealth of knowledge on the island’s history, language and culture. We will make sure you don’t miss the incredible prehistoric cliff top fortress at Dun Aenghus as well as some hidden spots along the island’s shore.

Day 7 - Saturday 19th July - Killarney National Park

Heading further south today, Kerry is an expanse of rugged, mountainous country that sweeps down to the world-famous Lakes of Killarney. Here, stretching across 10,000 hectares, lies Killarney National Park, with its unforgettable combination of mountains, lakes, woodland and waterfalls. Historic manor houses and abbeys make for an interesting visit, but Killarney is best explored via a private boat trip with a Kerryman skipper who has been sailing these lakes since he was a child with his family. Cruise the tranquil lakes with one of the most spectacular backdrops imaginable as you are overlooked by Ireland’s highest mountain peaks.
