Day by Day

Day 1 - Sunday 25th May - Welcome to Dublin

Arriving in Ireland today, a private transfer will pick you up from the airport and whisk you into your centrally located hotel. Check-in is at 3 pm however feel free to drop your bags, freshen up and grab a bite to eat before your private walking tour with a local guide through the citys vibrant streets. With its mix of 1,000 years of architecture from the mediaeval to Georgian to modern, Dublin is a beautiful blend of traditional and contemporary surroundings. Your guide is a historian who will bring the city to life with colourful tales of life in the city in times gone by. This evening, enjoy dinner at one of Dublin’s many award-winning restaurants before catching up on some sleep.

Day 2 - Monday 26th May - Gaelic Games

This morning, your private guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel and after some short introductions, you’ll set off on your Irish adventure. Your first stop this morning is a visit to local brothers and sportsmen for a deep dive into Irish culture. Gaelic Games are among the few hidden treasures that most visitors to Ireland rarely get to experience. From hurling, one of the oldest field sports in the world, to Gaelic football, Ireland’s most popular sport, you will experience an enthralling energy-packed introduction to our National Games that will literally take your breath away and leave you with memories to last a lifetime. After a spot of lunch, you’ll head south to the “Garden of Ireland”, Wicklow, and your 4* eco-lodge located in a secluded valley. This evening, your guide will join you for a welcome dinner and a chance to chat about the week to come.

Day 3 - Tuesday 27th May - The Garden of Ireland

Join your guide today for a morning visit to Powerscourt House and Gardens. Stretching over 47 acres and encompassing formal gardens, sweeping terraces, secret hollows and rambling walks, the Powerscourt Gardens have been voted in the Top Ten World’s Top Gardens by National Geographic. Spend a couple of hours enjoying the tranquil surroundings before lunch onsite overlooking the grounds. Your stop stop is at a Palladian Manor house in the heart of West Wicklow where you will experience the thrill of seeing some resident sheepdogs in action as they demonstrate how they masterfully herd the sheep. Following your demo, enjoy a private guided tour of the Manor House, built in the mid-1700s to display the great art assembled by the 1st Earl of Milltown before heading back to your lodge for the evening.

Day 4 - Wednesday 28th May - Travelling to the Southwest

This morning, it’s time to head to Co. Kerry in Ireland’s famed South West. The drive time is 4 hours but there will be stops along the way to break up the travel day. Your first destination is the artsy, colourful town of Kilkenny, home to Kilkenny Castle, one of the most fascinating castles in Ireland. You’ll take a guided tour to learn about the massive restoration process behind the castle, following clues back through the years to restore the castle to its former glory. After a spot of lunch nearby, you’ll continue on the road to the quaint town of Kenmare, situated between the Beara Peninsula and what is known worldwide as the Ring of Kerry.

Day 5 - Thursday 29th May - Chocolate Making Class

After a leisurely morning, you will head to the kitchen of a local chocolate factory, don your aprons and try your hand at creating (and tasting!) some delicious chocolate treats. You’ll discover the history and origins of Cocoa Beans, learn some working techniques and secret recipes, and enjoy everything from Truffles to Mousee and Hot Chocolate. The rest of the day is yours to spend together. Relax at your hotel or take a walk around Kenmare, we’ll provide you with some dinner recommendations and your guide will meet you again tomorrow.

Day 6 - Friday 30th May - Killarney National Park

Today you’ll head North to Dingle, stopping in Ireland’s most famous National Park on the way. Killarney National Park stretches across 10,000 hectares, with its unforgettable combination of mountains, lakes, woodland and waterfalls. You’ll board a traditional wooden boat for a tour of the famed Killarney Lakes with Dux, your Kerryman skipper who has been sailing these lakes since he was a child. Alighting back on solid land, Torc Waterfall in the park’s lush, green heart is the next stop on today’s adventure. Explore the stunning mountainside waterfall, a perfect place to stretch your legs and enjoy an incredible photo opportunity before visiting an iconic manor house, Muckross House and Gardens.

Day 7 - Saturday 31st May - The Dingle Peninsula

County Kerry is made up of four peninsulas, The Kerry Head, The Beara, The Iveragh and probably its most well-known, The Dingle Peninsula. Following a relaxed Irish breakfast, your guide will take you on explorations around this beautiful part of Ireland. This is Gaeltacht country where the Irish language is still widely spoken as a first language and culture and traditions remain strong. Your first stop is to meet some feather friends on an exhilarating Hawk Walk. Watch as these magnificent birds of prey swoop and soar with breathtaking speed and learn all about their fascinating habits. You’ll then take one of the most scenic drives to a local pottery shop for a behind-the-scenes tour. Meet the artist and you’ll notice the pottery is distinctively Irish and reflects the magnificent scale and wonderful colours in the landscape of his home, Dingle.

Day 8 - Sunday 1st June - Depart
