Day by Day

Day 1 - Friday 3rd May - Arrival to Ireland

Wave goodbye to Scotland this morning as you fly into Shannon and pick up your rental car. Time to head to the magical Kingdom of Kerry, but before you do, stop off at Bunratty Castle, one of the most historic castles on the west coast.

Kerry is known for its rich history, dramatic coastline, rugged mountains and pristine lakes, with the iconic Ring of Kerry offering some of the most stunning scenic drives in the world. Kerry’s history is closely linked to Irish culture, with a vibrant tradition of music, dance and storytelling. Your home for the next three nights is the town of Killarney, check into your four star hotel and tuck into a nice evening meal. Adventure starts tomorrow!

Day 2 - Saturday 4th May - The Skellig Islands

Today you will embark on a memorable adventure to the Skellig Islands, a UNESCO World Heritage site and famous Star Wars filming location! As you set sail, you’ll be greeted by breathtaking coastal views and an array of seabirds, including puffins and gannets. Skellig Michael is an ancient monastic settlement perched on a rugged island and you’ll climb stone steps originally built by monks in the 6th century. Take in the stunning panoramas of the Atlantic Ocean and feel the mystique of this historical site.

Day 3 - Sunday 5th May - Exploring Killarney National Park

After a leisurely breakfast, it’s time to head into Killarney National Park – the jewel in the county’s crown. Today  you’ll board a boat, relax and enjoy the tranquil lake waters with stunning mountain scenery all around while hearing local lore and legend from your story-teller boatman whose ancestors have been working on these waters for generations. Later this afternoon, visit Ross Castle and hear about the legend of O’Donoghue and his snow-white horse. Return to your charming accommodation this evening, sitting down to a delicious, locally sourced dinner.

Day 4 - Monday 6th May - Discover Kinsale

This morning, make your way further south to the bright coastal town of Kinsale. Historically a medieval fishing port, its spectacular waterfront setting and candy-coloured houses, shops and restaurants, make it a glorious blend of old and the new. This afternoon, join a local for a delicious food tour, discovering Kinsale’s culinary delights. Return to your boutique accommodation this evening, the heritage of the building dates back to the 1700s and preserves many of the original features with a beautiful Georgian facade, impressive high ceilings, sash windows, and stone fireplaces..

Day 5 - Tuesday 7th May - Cobh & Ireland's Alcatraz

The nearby town of Cobh is cemented in history as the last port in which the ill fated Titanic docked before embarking on its maiden journey to America. Formally called Queenstown, Cobh today has many attractions and not just for Titanic enthusiasts. Small colourful houses line the streets that cup a picturesque harbour while the impressive Cobh Cathedral dominates the skyline overlooking the town.

Just at the mouth of the harbour you will find Spike Island, a former jail and Ireland’s very own Alcatraz, Spike island is now a tourist attraction which can be visited both during the day, and for the more brave hearted, at night.

Day 6 - Wednesday 8th May - Waterford & Waterford Crystal

Checking out of your hotel this morning, its time to leave Kinsale behind. Today you will be visiting the famous Waterford Crystal Factory for a tour where you will meet the master cutters and witness art being created first hand. With craftsmen and women here since the 1960’s and 70’s, their skills and knowledge creating such exquisite pieces is world renowned. Afterwards, take a stroll through the heart of the city to explore the Viking Triangle, home to attractions like Reginald’s Tower, the Medieval Museum, and the stunning Christ Church Cathedral.

Day 7 - Thursday 9th May - Golf at Faithlegg

After a relaxing morning, a golf tee time has been reserved for you this afternoon. Experience golfing excellence at Faithlegg, where the lush fairways and stunning views create a golfer’s paradise. Tee off against the backdrop of serene woodlands and the River Suir, making every round an unforgettable journey.
