Day by Day

Day 1 - Saturday 13th July - Welcome to Scotland

On arrival at the airport you will be met by a private driver who will transfer you to your city centre hotel. Depending on your arrival time you can choose to relax at the hotel or head out to start exploring this unique city.

Day 2 - Sunday 14th July - Exploring Edinburgh

This morning immerse yourselves in the winding cobbled streets of historic Old Town Edinburgh as you enjoy a private walking tour with an expert local guide. Discover the highlights of this unique capital city all the way up the ‘Royal Mile’ to the mighty ancient fortress which is Edinburgh Castle. Walk the ramparts atop castle rock and hear the tales of the One O’Clock gun and the stories of locals of times past. Your guide will leave you here so that you can spend as much time in the castle as you wish. The afternoon is free to continue explorations at your own pace, pick up souvenirs or relax as you prefer.

Day 3 - Monday 15th July - Journey north to Perthshire

After breakfast, meet your driver and guide, who will be with you for the next few days, and commence your journey to Perthshire. Along the way, enjoy a visit to historic Scone Palace, once the crowning place of Scottish Kings and Queens. Stroll the beautiful gardens and explore the unique Murray Star Maze before you continue north. Embrace the scenic drive, absorbing the breathtaking landscapes en route. If time allows and you’re eager for adventure, your guide can suggest a picturesque walk amidst the stunning countryside. Later settle into your accommodations and perhaps take a leisurely stroll along the river banks.

Day 4 - Tuesday 16th July - Morning Private 4x4 Safari & Afternoon Explorations

This morning you head out on a fun private Landrover safari with a kilted Ranger. Exploring private estate tracks to see what traditional gillies and estate managers drive every day. Keep your eyes open for the local wildlife, Red Deer, Mountain Hares and Eagles that are all to be found here. After enjoying a delicious lunch, continue your local explorations with your guide, finishing the day with some delectable chocolates at a local award-winning specialist.

Day 5 - Wednesday 17th July - Highland History

Travel the short journey to the Highland village of Blair Atholl and tour Blair Castle. The castle is known to be home to the Atholl Highlanders, Europe’s last private army. Take a walk through the hallways and grounds to discover the past 750 years of local history. This afternoon enjoy a hike around the local area, with options depending on weather conditions and energy levels.

Day 6 - Thursday 18th July - Travel to the West

Your main driver guide will meet you at your hotel this morning to set off for the west coast. On the way stop off for a leg stretch in one of the quaint villages or for a short walk to take in the beauty that surrounds. Arrive at your Island retreat this afternoon to relax and make the most of the facilities and grounds.

Day 7 - Friday 19th July - The West Highlands

This morning, drive north passing Castle Stalker, enjoy one of the most scenic journeys, as you travel to the Glenfinnan Viaduct and Monument. Have time here with your guide, before visiting the nearby beaches of Arisaig, or if preferred journey to the breathtaking Glencoe. Here, explore the scene of the famous 1692 massacre and the backdrop to many Hollywood films en route to your accommodation.

Day 8 - Saturday 20th July - Coastal Discoveries

Explore the spectacular coastline of the West. Today you’ll make your way through the wild and rugged coastal scenery. Set out on a private boat to explore the waters, keep your eyes peeled for eagles, dolphins, a huge variety of sea birds and maybe even whales as you explore the islands and coastline.  Admire the views out to the islands and discover the sand beaches. This afternoon is free for you to enjoy, perhaps explore the quaint fishing town of Oban before returning to Eriska for the final evening of your travels.

Day 9 - Sunday 21st July - Depart
