We say goodbye to the west coast now and head east again to the Cairngorms National Park. As we drive, we enjoy a spectacular change in the scenery from prominent peaks and deep glens to the high plateau and wide river valleys. In the adventure hub of Aviemore, we collect our E mountain bikes and then head out with your guide Arran to explore the great Caledonian Forest – a flourishing section of the ancient woodlands that enchanted Queen Victoria long ago. Riding on excellent trails we pass through a land of beautiful pine trees and crystal clear streams with ever-changing views. The mountain biking can be as easy or as challenging as you like, so is suitable for anyone who can ride a bike as our guides will adapt the route to match your skill level. Day 6 - Wednesday 2nd July - Hiking the Cairngorms
Enjoy a day of walking with Mungo, exploring the Cairngorms on foot. Depending on the chosen hike, head up onto the Cairngorm Plateau or venture into the wilderness of Glenfeshie, often considered Scotland’s most beautiful glen. Another great option is to stroll around the Uath Lochans, known locally as the Paw Print Lochans. Here, raised boardwalks wind through reedy marshlands, where it’s possible to spot the glittering wings of dragonflies as they dart over the wetlands. Climbing a short way to Farleitter Crag, this small hill offers incredible elevated views of the water, forest, and surrounding Cairngorm Mountains.

Meet Your Guides
Mungo Ross

Having had the most extraordinary good fortune and privilege to travel on adventures and lead expeditions to all seven continents, allowing me to become more familiar with the Khumbu Valley in Nepal than the Lairig Ghru in the Cairngorms, I am still as passionate as ever to share my enthusiasm for my home country, Scotland.
Whether travelling on skis or snowboard; by kayak, canoe, raft, boat or windsurfer; shod in rock-shoes or snow-shoes or equipped with ice axe and crampons – whether out on my own, with friends, or leading and teaching others, I am still often not able to tell the difference between days of work or play.

Contact Number: Goddard
Originally from Fife, I moved to the Highlands in 2018 to study Adventure Tourism Management Degree. While studying, I gained qualifications in Mountain biking and other sports and did two years of coaching and guiding at Nevis Range, the home of the Downhill World Cup. My passion for the outdoors helped me to create a career, especially with a focus on resilience and mental health through outdoor exploring in Scotland and Greenland. The Highlands are my home and always will be. After finishing my degree this spring, I have recently moved to the Cairngorms to work as an Operations Assistant as well as guiding for Wilderness, starting my next big adventure chapter.
