A green grade hiking journey starting with a Dublin tour, then exploring Ireland’s scenic southwest peninsulas from Cork to the Ring of Kerry. Each day blends relaxed hiking with enriching cultural encounters, offering an immersive exploration of Ireland’s vibrant heritage. The trip concludes at Shannon Airport, with an optional drop-off in Limerick.
Day by Day
Day 1 - Dublin's Fair City
You will be greeted at the yellow sculpture in the Terminal 2 arrival hall in Dublin Airport at 7:00, 10:00 or 12:00 and a private transfer will take you to your Dublin hotel.
You will have some free time before meeting your Guides around 14:30pm at your hotel for an initial introduction, followed by a city walking tour.
You’ll explore Dublin’s historic streets, taking in the stunning architecture, visiting famous landmarks, and discovering hidden gems. Along the way, the guide will share fascinating stories and insights about the city’s past and present, giving you a deeper understanding of Dublin’s unique character and charm. Return to your hotel to finalise check-in and prepare for dinner.
At approximately 19:00, your guide will meet you once again at the hotel, and together you’ll head to a local Dublin restaurant. Here, over a welcome drink and dinner, you’ll get to know your fellow travellers and the guide who will accompany you throughout the week.

Day 2 - Rock of Cashel
Today we leave Dublin at approximately 09:00 and transfer to West Cork, enjoying a scenic journey that includes a stop at The Rock of Cashel. This historic site, perched atop a limestone hill, boasts ancient fortifications and iconic medieval architecture, offering a glimpse into Ireland’s rich cultural and religious past. Explore the intricate Celtic crosses, majestic round tower, and the well-preserved medieval buildings that dot the landscape.
We will have lunch around 12:45 in Cashel before continuing our journey towards West Cork. Soak in the picturesque countryside views, with rolling green hills and quaint villages passing by. The scenic drive sets the stage for the natural beauty and tranquil charm that awaits in this captivating region of Ireland.
After settling into your hotel, the group will reconvene around 19:00 for a relaxed dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Day 3 - Hike near Glengarriff and visit Garnish Island
After a short transfer at approximately 09:00am, we will embark on a scenic hike near Glengarriff, a picturesque village nestled at the foothills of the Caha Mountains in West Cork. As you traverse the trails, you’ll be surrounded by lush woodlands, babbling streams, and panoramic views of Bantry Bay and the rugged Beara Peninsula. This tranquil setting provides the perfect backdrop for a relaxing and rejuvenating outdoor adventure.
After our hike, we’ll stop at a local café around 13:00 for lunch, then head to Garnish Island, a hidden gem renowned for its breathtaking gardens and exotic plants. Accessible by a short boat ride from Glengarriff, Garnish Island is renowned for its Italianate gardens, meticulously designed with rare plants and vibrant blooms. Take a leisurely stroll through the winding paths, marvelling at the intricate sculptures, peaceful ponds, and breathtaking vistas overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, a garden lover, or simply seeking a tranquil escape, the combination of hiking near Glengarriff and visiting Garnish Island promises a memorable and enchanting experience in Ireland’s southwest.
You’ll have the evening free to explore the town and dine at a restaurant of your choice.

Day 4 - Hike the Beara Peninsula
Departing around 09:00, we’ll set off on an unforgettable hiking adventure across the enchanting Beara Peninsula, famed for its rugged coastline, sweeping vistas, and untouched natural beauty. As you traverse the trails, you’ll be immersed in the untamed wilderness, surrounded by heather-covered hills, dramatic cliffs, and tranquil lakes that reflect the ever-changing Irish skies. Enjoy a packed lunch along the trail today.
After your hike at approximately 15:00, delve into the heart of Irish tradition with a visit to Molly Gallivan’s Cottage and Traditional Farm. Nestled in the picturesque countryside near Kenmare, this historic site offers a genuine glimpse into rural Irish life. Experience a hands-on demonstration of traditional turf cutting, where you’ll learn the ancient art of harvesting peat for fuel, a practice deeply rooted in Ireland’s cultural heritage. Next, indulge in a bread-making demonstration, where you’ll knead and shape dough before watching it bake to golden perfection in an open hearth.
This evening, we’ll transfer to Killarney and settle into our next hotel before joining the group around 19:00 for dinner in the hotel.

Day 5 - Killarney National Park
We’ll head out for the day around 09:00, making our way to the pier to catch the boat for our next adventure.
Experience a day of exploration and discovery in Killarney National Park, with a serene boat trip across the tranquil waters of Lough Leane. As you glide along, surrounded by the park’s verdant landscapes and mirrored reflections, take in the peaceful ambiance of this pristine natural setting.
Upon reaching shore, embark on a picturesque hike through Killarney’s diverse terrain. Wander along well-defined paths that wind through ancient woodlands, where towering trees and lush vegetation create a serene atmosphere. Along the way, be captivated by the sight and sound of Torc Waterfall, its cascading waters tumbling gracefully into a crystal-clear pool below. Pause to soak in the natural beauty and capture the moment amidst moss-covered rocks and vibrant foliage. We’ll pause here to enjoy a packed lunch in this serene location.
After your hike at around 15:00, we will continue our journey with a visit to Muckross House, a splendid Victorian mansion set amidst sprawling gardens and scenic vistas. Step inside to explore the lavishly furnished rooms adorned with period furnishings and exquisite artworks, gaining insight into the lives of its former inhabitants, the Herbert family. Stroll through the meticulously maintained gardens surrounding the estate, where manicured lawns, colourful flower beds, and tranquil lakeside paths invite peaceful contemplation.
Dinner will be at your leisure this evening in Killarney.

Day 6 - Inch Strand and Dingle
Today we will depart around 09:00 and enjoy a leisurely morning with a scenic beach walk along Inch Strand, a stunning stretch of sandy coastline nestled between the Dingle Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry. Take in the panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the rugged mountains in the distance, while keeping an eye out for local wildlife such as seabirds soaring overhead or dolphins playing in the surf.
Around 13:00, after your beach walk, we’ll enjoy a delightful lunch at a local pub before heading to the vibrant town of Dingle. The rest of the evening will be yours to explore at your leisure. Immerse yourself in the culture of the region with an authentic traditional music session at a local pub. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the lively tunes of Irish musicians playing fiddles, tin whistles, and bodhráns.

Day 7 - Slea Head and the Blasket Centre
We will have a short transfer at around 09:00 this morning before our hike along Slea Head, one of the most picturesque and dramatic parts of the Dingle Peninsula. The trail offers breathtaking views of the rugged coastline, with the Atlantic Ocean crashing against the cliffs below and the distant Blasket Islands dotting the horizon. As you hike, take in the stunning scenery, including rolling green hills, ancient stone walls, and quaint farmhouses. The path will lead you to scenic overlooks where you can pause to capture the beauty of this wild and unspoiled landscape. We will stop for a packed lunch along the trail today.
After your hike, visit the Blasket Centre, a fascinating heritage and cultural museum dedicated to the history and legacy of the Blasket Islands. The centre offers a deep dive into the lives of the islanders who lived on the Blaskets until they were evacuated in 1953. Through engaging exhibits, multimedia presentations, and personal stories, learn about the unique Gaelic culture, the challenges of island life, and the rich literary heritage that emerged from this small community.
Relax back at your hotel before enjoying a group dinner at approximately 19:00 at a local restaurant this evening.

Day 8 - Adare Village and return to Dublin
Today we will depart Dingle at around 09:00 and head back to Dublin for trip finale. We will stop in the quaint Adare village at approximately 11:30 where you will have the chance to browse local craft boutiques before our lunch in a local pub.
We’ll complete the final leg of our journey to Dublin, arriving around 16:00. After checking in to your Dublin hotel, you’ll bid farewell to your guide. The evening is yours to enjoy dinner in the city and relax before your onward journey tomorrow.

Day 9 - Farewell!
A private transfer will depart your hotel at 10:00, taking you to Dublin Airport and marking the end of a memorable journey.
