Day by Day

Day 1 - Friday 9th May - Welcome to Scotland

On arrival at the airport you will be met by your main driver guide and whisked north towards the rolling hills of Highland Perthshire.

Depending on the time of arrival there may be time to stop off to explore Stirling Castle or Scone Palace to follow in the footsteps of Royalty before arriving at your luxurious accommodation base for the next 3 nights.

Day 2 - Saturday 10th May - Exploring Perthshire

Lace up your hiking boots this morning and head out into the hills with your guide to discover the beauty and stunning scenery of this part of Scotland.  Your guide will tell you stories of the landscape and you may even get to see the elusive Red Deer staring down at you from the ridgeline.  There are many options for today from the high peaks that surround your hotel to a lovely low level walk through the towering pines and alongside the babbling river.  Your guide will discuss all of the options with you so you make the most out of your day.

Day 3 - Sunday 11th May - The History of Scotland

Head north today to visit Blair Castle, the home of the only private army in the UK and the home to over 19 generations of the Stewarts and Murrays of Atholl.  Take a tour of this beautiful castle which is steeped in history and follow in the footsteps of Royalty as you follow the story from Mary Queen of Scots to Queen Victoria presenting her colours to the Army.

After a wonderful morning, this afternoon you will head to a local chocolate shop to take a tour of their award winning enterprise and indulge in their amazing chocolates that are sold all over the world from their little shop in the heart of Perthshire.

For your final night in Perthshire, you will meet up with a local storyteller before dinner who will regale you with the myths and legends that are woven into the very fabric of life here in Scotland.  Sit back and let the stories wash over you as you spend your final night in the wonderful countryside.

Day 4 - Monday 12th May - Return to Edinburgh

It is time to leave the rolling hills behind and head to the bright lights of the city for your final two nights.   You will take a detour via Dundee to visit the incredible V&A museum that redefined design with the structure of their building.  Spend time exploring the displays and exhibitions – you may find you don’t want to leave!

Continuing onto Edinburgh you will arrive in the mid afternoon where you will head to the top of the Royal Mile for a tour of the hidden streets underneath the hustle and bustle of everyday life.  Meet some of the residents and see what it was like for people living here many years ago.  Your guide will take you back to the hotel and say goodbye, leaving you to enjoy one last day exploring the capital city.

Day 5 - Tuesday 13th May - Exploring Edinburgh

This morning immerse yourselves in the winding cobbled streets of historic Old Town Edinburgh as you enjoy a private walking tour with an expert local guide. Discover the highlights of this unique capital city from the Palace of Holyroodhouse all the way up the ‘Royal Mile’ to the mighty ancient fortress which is Edinburgh Castle itself. Walk the ramparts atop castle rock and hear the tales of the One O’Clock gun and the stories of locals of times past. Your guide will leave you here so that you can spend as much time in the castle as you wish.

You then have a free afternoon to continue explorations at your own pace, pick up souvenirs or relax as you prefer.

Day 6 - Wednesday 14th May - Depart

A private transfer will collect you from your accommodation and take you to the airport to make your onward connections. Waving farewell for now but taking with you special memories and wonderful stories of your explorations.
