Day 1 - Friday 16^th August - Welcome to the Cotswolds

Your private drivers will whisk you out of London this morning and you’ll head to the picturesque countryside of the Cotswolds, with its chocolate box villages and meandering streams.  On the way, you will stop off at a fantastic start to your countryside adventure where you will journey into a magical clearing for a bespoke cookery experience.  Enjoy foraging for tasty treats in the undergrowth before learning to cook some delicious food over the open fire, this is truly a one of a kind experience and will get your senses tingling and excited for the next part of your adventure.

Sated and satisfied, you will head north to your exclusive accommodation in the heart of the Cotswolds, where the staff will be waiting to make you comfortable and ensure a good nights sleep for everyone.

Day 2 - Saturday 17^th August - Slow Down Time as a family

There are many options for today for you to choose from depending what you would like to do.  Perhaps you may wish to board a local steam train, which thunders along the line to the spa town of Cheltenham, famous for its race course.  Sit back as the carriage rocks beneath you, allowing you to see the countryside from a different perspective.

Another option is to take to two wheels and enjoy the feeling of the wind rushing through your hair as you ride along the country lanes and along the wild flower hedgerows that the Cotswolds are known for.

Whatever you decide, you’ll head back to the accommodation this afternoon to enjoy some garden sports of football, tennis or croquet – may the best team win!

Day 3 - Sunday 18^th August - Exploring the ancient city of Bath

Bath is known for it’s incredible architecture and famous spa baths.  But today, you’ll head just outside of the city for a fun experience taking to the tiller of a narrowboat.  These majestic boats used to be used to transport goods along the canals of England but now are much more suited to sitting back and leaving the hustle and bustle of the city behind.  Take turns steering the boat along the winding canal and enjoying some delicious tasty treats on board as your surrounded by the sound of bird song and the gentle lapping of the river against the hull.

After a fun morning, you can either head into the city to explore – perhaps taking a private tour up the 212 steps to the Abbey Clock Tower or head back towards your accommodation stopping off to enjoy a hike or to explore some of the wonderful chocolate box villages that the area is known for.

Day 4 - Monday 19^th August - The Castles of the Cotswolds

Enjoy a private tour today of one of the most important castles in England’s turblant and changing past.  The only castle in England to have a Queen buried within the ground, Sudeley Castle has had Royal connections for over a thousand years.  Take a tour of the castle when it is closed to the public and meet Lady Ashcombe, who was the driving force in turning this family home into a place for the general public to visit back in 1969.  Hear the story of her life here, how the estate has changed over the years and the plans for the future.

The rest of the day is free to enjoy some time together in the house and garden or perhaps enjoy some treatments or Yoga from local therapists who will be on hand to ease any sore muscles or stretch out any aches and pains.

Day 5 - Tuesday 20^th August - Transfer to Hampshire

It is time to leave the Cotswolds this morning and head south to the next part of your adventure.  There will be no rush to leave so take you time to perhaps enjoy one last round of tennis or croquet on the lawn before leaving.

On route to your next accommodation, you will stop off for a tour at the iconic Stonehenge which has been a source of myths and legends for centuries.  Understand why these stones are so famous, what happens on the summer solstice and what magic perhaps lies within the inner sanctum.

You’ll arrive at your next accommodation in time to freshen up before dinner and make yourselves at home at this amazing property.

Day 6 - Wednesday 21^st August - Arts, Crafts and Cooking

Today is all about Arts, Crafts and Cooking and there are various options for you to choose from.  Perhaps head to a local estate to take part in a unique cookery workshop to suit all the tastes – perhaps you’d like to make some stone fired pizza’s from scratch, or learn the best way to BBQ over an open fire.  Another option is to head to a local artists studio to channel your creativity into some souveniers you can take home.

Back at the house, it is time for some family fun with some lawn games and a private falconry experience where these majestic creatures fly to your hand before launching their great wing span again off into the skies.

Day 7 - Thursday 22^nd August - Final day of Explorations

Today you can enjoy some family time exploring the local area, perhaps heading an hour down the road to the beautiful New Forest and their herds of wild ponies or north to the North Wessex Downs for a beautiful walk amongst the heather and lush green grass.

For your final night in the countryside, a truly unique experience awaits.  A hush will descend on the house as the lights dim and the actors take to the stage.  From Shakespeare to modern day, your evening will centre around a play with dinner taking the main stage.  Perhaps it might be a murder mystery and you need to work as a family to figure out who dunnit or a comedy that will have you laughing long after the actors have departed.  The show will climax with an incredible firework display as you all stand together enjoying this precious time as a family.
