Day by Day

Day 1 - Tuesday 17th September - Welcome to Scotland

On arrival at Inverness airport you will be met by your main driver guide. Depending on your arrival time stop to visit Culloden Battlefield. The site of the final bloody defeat of the Jacobite Army. The interactive visitor exhibition really brings history to life, before walking out onto the battlefield to stand where the troops met face to face on the front line. After this step back in time, journey to the Cairngorms National Park and your accommodation for the next few nights, in the heart of the Glenfeshie estate. Have a relaxing evening and settle in, or perhaps take a stroll on the estate grounds.

Day 2 - Wednesday 18th September - Explore the Trails

Take to two wheels today on a mountain bike ride through the pine forests of Rothiemurchus. Discover the shimmering lochs and mountain vistas as you pedal your way along the trails. The exact route for today will be discussed with your guide to offer options for a more challenging or leisurely cycle depending on preferences.

Day 3 - Thursday 19th September - Wood Carving and Gorge Walking

The forests of the Cairngorms are home to many adventures and awesome activities and today you will try your hand at two. Your first stop is a clearing in the local forest near your accommodation where you will be met by a local wood carver and will spend the morning learning how to carve your very own souvenir. Listen to the calls of the local wildlife as you use tools to whittle away, enjoying this private tuition from your expert tutor. This afternoon, it is time to take to the water to explore a secluded gorge. Gorge walking is a mix of rock scrambling and white water fun with plunge pools and natural slides. You will meet your local expert to spend time working your way up the river, jumping off ledges, swimming down streams and having lots of fun in the water.

Day 4 - Friday 20th September - Wild Swimming and Hiking

Plunge into the cold waters of a highland loch this morning to revitalise your body and rejuvenate your wellbeing. You will meet your private swimming guide at the lochside to take the step and enjoy the sensation of the cool water as you float along, getting hints and tips on your swimming style from your guide on the way. After warming up over a delicious lunch, enjoy an afternoon hike into the local hills. With your guide, choose a hike that suits you – perhaps hike to a summit, or choose to explore a low level route, along the rivers or through the pine forests or roam heather-covered glens, the perfect immersion into this ancient landscape.

Day 5 - Saturday 21st September - Travel to the Highlands

Your main driver guide will meet you this morning to journey through the valleys and the rolling hills of Perthshire. Have the option for a longer hike today or choose a more leisurely day. Perhaps a beautiful woodland hike to breathe in the smell of the towering Scots Pines and the fresh Scottish air, before continuing your scenic drive, stopping off at quaint villages along the way.

Day 6 - Sunday 22nd September - Foraging and Canoe Adventures

Today spend time exploring the grounds nearby, foraging for the freshest produce you can find. Hear about the innovative ways the tasty treats are used in dishes on a daily basis. After an enjoyable morning, sample the flavours of your endeavours and tuck into a sensational lunch. This afternoon, take to the waters by canoe to explore your wonderful surroundings. Your expert guide will teach you the basics for a fun and enchanting loch journey. Returning to shore, have time to simply relax and make the most of your final evening.
