Day by Day

Day 1 - Friday 31st May - Into Highland Perthshire

As you journey into Perthshire today you’ll be greeted by tall trees and taller mountains. On the way to your accommodation, you may want to visit Scone Palace, the ancient seat of the Scottish Parliament and the crowning place of kings including Robert the Bruce. Spend time wandering around the Palace and Gardens (don’t get lost in the maze!), before continuing north for a short walk at the Hermitage. Marvel at the impressive canopy of Douglas firs – some of the tallest in Britain – as you make your way to a waterfall where it is possible to spot leaping salmon. Arrive at your accommodation in time to settle in before dinner.

Standing tall over the tranquil waters of Loch Rannoch, which is a great hill if you’d love to “bag a munro” (climb a mountain over 3,000ft/914.4m). I am an enthusiastic climber/ mountaineer and cyclist. The Cairngorms have been my home for the last 8 years. Before this, I was in North Wales and the South West of England, and visiting Scotland every Winter for 3 or 4 months. Working part-time and having a portfolio career gives me time for adventures around the Cairngorms and around Scotland.
