Day by Day

Day 1 - Wednesday 24th July - Arrive in Edinburgh

Your private transfer will meet you at Edinburgh airport and transfer you to your welcoming hotel. Take some time to relax and settle in, enjoying an oasis of calm as the city’s characterful streets buzz and bustle beyond the window. Depending on your arrival time, perhaps head out to explore or you may prefer to simply relax and enjoy an evening in your luxury accommodation.

Day 2 - Thursday 25th July - Exploring Edinburgh

After breakfast, meet your guide in the foyer of your hotel and head out for a day spent exploring the beautiful cobblestone streets of the city. Full of history, the capital is very accessible by foot. Wander up the Royal Mile, stopping to visit the architecturally stunning St Giles Cathedral, and enjoy panoramic views from Edinburgh Castle. Pick up a coffee and a pastry from one of the wee artisan shops, dipping into local galleries, cheesemongers and bookshops. If you fancy an afternoon with a twist, head to the Surgeons’ Hall Museums, which holds one of the largest collections of surgical pathology in the world. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 3 - Friday 26th July - History and Heritage

Your driver guide for the next few days will meet you at your hotel this morning and transfer you to explore the impressive Stirling Castle, perched high on the cliff side dominating the landscape. Afterwards visit the imposing Wallace Monument, which celebrates Scotland’s first national hero William Wallace. Admire the huge Wallace Sword and climb the steps to gain the beautiful vista of the surrounding Ochil hills. Later, journey through the atmospheric valley of Glencoe to your accommodation for the evening.

Day 4 - Saturday 27th July - Steam railway and over the sea to Skye

Step back in time today as you board the famous Jacobite Steam Train and head to the coast. Journey through the beautiful scenery as you traverse the West Highland line on the “Hogwarts Express” you are offered unparalleled views of rugged mountains, sparkling lochs and historic viaducts. Arriving in the quaint fishing village of Mallaig you will be met by your guide to explore the scenic harbour before catching the ferry over the sea to Skye. Delve further into Scotlands mesmerising landscape as you travel to your charming waterside accommodation.

Day 5 - Sunday 28th July - Exploring Skye

Today your guide will take you on a tour to see the highlights of Skye, depending on your interests. There is plenty to discover on this small Scottish Isle, explore the magical Trotternish Peninsula or Neist Point and Dunvegan and be captivated by the surrounding rugged, otherworldly landscapes of ‘The Misty Isle’.

Day 6 - Monday 29th July - Travel to Invereness

We leave Skye by crossing the bridge into the stunning Kintail region, stopping off at the picturesque Eilean Donan Castle on our way to Loch Ness. After enjoying lunch in the village of Drumnadrochit have the option to visit the ruins of Urquhart Castle or continue your travels along the loch side to the capital of the Highlands, Inverness. Arriving in Inverness choose to settle into your accommodation and relax before your flight tomorrow, or perhaps visit the atmospheric Battlefield of Culloden and learn of the significance this site played in the Scottish Jacobite history.

Day 7 - Tuesday 30th July - Farewell to Scotland and Fly to Dublin

Your guide will take you to the airport this morning for your onwards flight to Dublin.
