Day by Day

Day 1 - Arrival, Birmingham to Snowdonia (Eryri)

This morning meet your Wilderness Guide and set off for your adventure. From here you will enjoy a picturesque journey from Birmingham to Snowdon, with captivating stops along the way. Delve into history with a walk up to the 13 Century Medieval Hill fort Castell Dinas Brân. Once a stronghold of Welsh princes, the castle’s ruins now offer visitors a glimpse into medieval life.  Visit the weaving shed at Trefriw Woollen Mills, where traditional techniques meet modern innovation in wool processing. From here, journey to your accommodation and settle into the evening enjoying a delicious evening meal.

Day 2 - Hiking Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa)

Today you’ll head out to explore Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales. Choose to either hike to the summit with your guide or take the mountain train for great views. This morning you will chat with your guide about what route up the mountain suits you best. Enjoy your lunch at the top of Snowdon, enjoying panoramic views of the National Park. Descend on foot or choose to return via the train. Later visit the National Slate Museum to learn about this fascinating industry and watch a slate cutting demonstration.

Day 3 - Anglesey Golf and Weaving

This morning, journey north to the Isle of Anglesey, known for its rich Welsh language and prehistoric landmarks. Immerse yourself in its vibrant culture as you explore the island’s history and heritage. While John and Andre enjoy a round of golf amid the scenic beauty of Anglesey, Liz and Iris will embark on a picturesque coastal walk along the Anglesey Coastal Path before joining a weaving class at SAORImor, where expert weavers will share traditional Welsh weaving techniques passed down through generations.

Day 4 - Red Kites in Pembrokeshire

After breakfast this morning, leave Snowdonia National Park and head south toward Pembrokeshire. On the way, stop at Bwlch Nant Yr Arian Forest, where you’ll enjoy a leisurely walk and watch the red kites being fed. Later visit Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber, a remarkable portal tomb predating Stonehenge. Continue on to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, soaking in the stunning views of the sea before settling into your accommodation this afternoon.

Day 5 - Hiking the Pembrokeshire Coast Path

As gulls take to the wing against the sea-blown sky, head out into the salty sunshine to hike a stunning part of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Established in 1970, its 186-mile route winds along the cliff tops and gives breathtaking views across the glittering sea to the horizon beyond. Enjoy traversing the coastline, stopping to admire the rocky cliffs, crescent beaches and sheltered bays along the way. Finish your walk back in St Davids and enjoy visiting the stunning 12th-century cathedral. Home to some lovely artisanal shops, enjoy a cool drink in one of the cafes before returning to your hotel to relax before dinner.

Day 6 - Stomer and Ramsey Island

As the sun makes the sea sparkle step aboard for a boat trip to Skomer Island, renowned for its bustling puffin colonies at certain times of year. Marvel at these charming seabirds as they dance along the cliffs and dive into the waters around you. Spot grey seals basking on the rocky shores.  Afterwards, set foot on Ramsey Island for an immersive walk amidst dramatic coastal scenery. Explore rugged cliffs, hidden coves,  and the untamed beauty of this remote island sanctuary. Through archaeological surveys, it has been discovered that there has been human activity on this island for the past 5,000 years. Walk in the footsteps of our ancestors and imagine what life would have been like all those years ago.

Day 7 - Birds of Prey and to the Cotswolds

Head out this morning with your guide to enjoy a wonderful visit to the British Birds of Prey Centre, where you’ll have the unique opportunity to get up close and personal with majestic birds of prey. Take part in a captivating hawk walk where you stroll through the forests with a Falconer who can explain the unique relationship. This afternoon, arrive in the Cotswolds, where there will be time to explore some of the beautiful villages in the area before settling into your accommodation.

Day 8 - Exploring the Cotswolds

This morning, the gents will head out for a round of golf while the ladies visit a local weaving shop and museum and spend time visiting some quintessential Cotswolds villages, including Burton-on-the-Water and the model village. Meet up again for lunch, and then this afternoon, choose an experience like blacksmithing or cheese making or sim, and then this afternoon, choose an experience have a relaxed few hours soaking up the sites and sounds of the Cotswolds.

Day 9 - Visit Bath

After breakfast this morning travel to High Grove House, the residence of His Majesty King Charles III. Here enjoy a guided tour of the impressive gardens and a traditional afternoon team in the Orchard Room. After your visit to High Grove, continue on to Bath. You’ll settle into your hotel and then head out to explore the city. Visit the famous Roman Baths created in around 70AD, and then spend the rest wandering the honey coloured streets lined with independent shops before enjoy dinner in the city.

Day 10 - To Cornwall

After breakfast this morning you’ll head to Cornwall. On the way, stop at Exmoor National Park and enjoy a glimpse into rural life in England with a visit to West Ilkerton Farm. Here you will meet the animals, including the Exmoor Horn Sheep and spend time with the farmer whose family have tended the land for generations. After your tour, you’ll continue your journey into Cornwall. Upon arrival, take a stroll through the winding lanes of Padstow, a busy fishing village where white-washed cottages look out over the Atlantic Ocean.

Day 11 - Padstow and the Cornish Coast

Enjoy a day exploring Cornwall’s stunning north coast. Spend time walking from beach to cove, discovering the ruins of past industries as well as unusual rock formations. Meander along the Camel Estuary, breathe in the fresh sea air, and soak up the breathtaking views. If you are feeling brave, take a dip in the sea-filled outdoor swimming pool or visit the charming 14th-century village of Port Issac, exploring the charming streets, quaint harbour, bustling quayside, and delectable seafood eateries. Indulge in local delicacies, from fresh fish and chips to the iconic Cornish pasty, and sample award-winning ice cream as you wander.

Day 12 - Explore St Ives

Embark on a breathtaking journey along the Cornish coast to St Ives, a charming seaside town renowned for its artistic heritage and stunning landscapes. This morning, enjoy another short coastal walk. As you traverse the coastal path, keep an eye out for native wildlife, from seabirds soaring overhead to seals basking on rocky outcrops below. Immerse yourself in the tranquillity of nature and let the sound of the waves be your soundtrack. Later, stop at a local cider orchard. Take a tour of the farm in a vintage 1950’s tractor and learn how Cornish cider is made. Enjoy lunch here. sampling the ciders before continuing on to the beautiful St Ives.

Day 13 - Golf, Gardens and History

This morning, John and Andre will enjoy a round of gold with the beautiful Cornish seascape in the background. Liz and Iris will head to Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens. The gardens offer a captivating blend of art, nature, and tranquillity in the heart of Cornwall. Meeting up again enjoy a guided tour of a Cornish vineyard ending with a tasting of some special wines before enjoying lunch here nestled atop a sun-kissed hill overlooking Mounts Bay. Later this afternoon you’ll visit St Michael’s Mount, a tidal island home to an ancient castle, chapel and local community. Step back in time as you explore the castle and gardens and discover the tales of myths and legends.

Day 14 - The Eden Project and Depart

This morning, leave St Ives and head to the Eden Project. A global garden and one of the world’s largest indoor rainforests, it is set in the remnants of an abandoned clay mine. Take a guided tour of the Biomes that cover much of the area, learning about the conservation work. After an interesting morning of exploring and a wonderful lunch, we will start the journey home.
