Day by Day

Day 1 - Friday 28th June - Welcome To Scotland

On arrival at Edinburgh Airport you will be met by a private driver who will transfer you to your city centre hotel. Depending on your arrival time you can choose to relax at the hotel or head out to start exploring this unique city.

Day 2 - Saturday 29th June - Exploring Edinburgh

This morning meet your main private guide and immerse yourselves in the winding cobbled streets of historic Old Town Edinburgh as you are joined by a local expert guide and enjoy a private walking tour. Full of history, the capital is very accessible by foot. Wander up the Royal Mile, stopping to visit the architecturally stunning St Giles Cathedral, and finish with the panoramic views from Edinburgh Castle. Walk the ramparts atop castle rock and hear the tales of the One O’Clock gun and the stories of locals of times past.

You can spend as much time in the castle as you wish. You then have options this afternoon to continue your explorations with your guide, or choose to self-explore to visit a museum, pick up souvenirs or relax at your hotel as you prefer.

Day 3 - Sunday 30th June - St Andrews and Transfer North

St Andrews – the hallowed home of golf with its pristine fairways stretching their way along the seafront and the sound of a nine iron echoing around the greens. Your private Highlands guide will pick you up from your hotel bright and early this morning, giving you time to get to St Andrews in time to enjoy a round of golf on one of the many different and celebrated links courses.

For the non golfers in the party there are lots of other options such as exploring this lovely historic university town, taking a hike with the guide or perhaps simply enjoying a coffee and watching the world go by. Your guide will discuss the options with you and the choice is yours. This afternoon head north to the rolling hills of Perthshire and your welcoming accommodation.

Day 4 - Monday 1st July - Landrover Safari, Lunch in a Hill Bothy & Chocolate Tasting

This morning you will head into an enchanting glen, delving deeper into the wilderness on a private landrover 4×4 tour with a local kilted guide. As you explore, look out for the russet red coats of red deer and the soaring silhouettes of golden eagles. Listen out for the chattering disapproval of grouse as they flap comically above the heath, chatting to your local guide about the land’s topography.

After enjoying a wonderful lunch in a secluded bothy you head back down to the valley where your private guide is waiting. You can choose to spend a little time exploring the charming village of Aberfeldy before you head back to your castle accommodation. Stopping on the way for a special guided tasting of the delectable treats of a a local award winning chocolatier.

Day 5 - Tuesday 2nd July - Fly to Dublin

This morning your Highlands guide will wave you farewell and your driver will take you to Edinburgh Airport to catch your onward flight to the Emerald Isle. Arriving in Ireland, your private transfer will pick you up from the airport and whisk you into the city to your 5 star hotel in the city centre. Check-in may not be available till this afternoon, however feel free to leave your bags, freshen up, or have a bite to eat.

The rest of the day is free to explore Dublin from the comfort and proximity of your hotel. There are some great self guided tours we can recommend or simply relax at your hotel enjoying the amenities. We are happy to make a restaurant recommendations and reservations for you and your guides will join you tomorrow.

Day 6 - Wednesday 3rd July - Walking Tour of Dublin

Your guides will join you at your hotel this morning and after some brief introductions its time to get out and explore!
One of the best ways to get to know a new city and learn some of its history is on a walking tour and this morning we have arranged for a local historian and guide to lead you around some of Dublins most famous and infamous sites.

Dublin is a vibrant capital city, with its mix of 1,000 years of architecture from the mediaeval to Georgian to modern. See the Georgian style Merrion Square, lush St. Stephen’s Green and Fitzwilliam Square, as well as O’Connell Street, the site of the ‘1916 Uprising’ that led to Ireland’s independence in 1922. Your guide is also a historian who will bring the city to life with colourful tales of life in the city in times gone by.

Day 7 - Thursday 4th July - Little Museum of Dublin

This morning head to the Little Museum of Dublin for a private tour with the curator enjoying a brief and entertaining dive into the social history of the city. Enjoy a delicious lunch in the cafe next door before spending the rest of the afternoon exploring the city with your guide.

No visit to Dublin is complete without a tour of the iconic Guinness  Storehouse. Your tour takes you across seven floors and the history of Guinness before taking in the 360 views of Dublin city from the Gravity Bar. From there, you will visit three different Dublin pubs, enjoying the best pints the city has to offer taking in the sights, sounds and smells of the city along the way.

Day 8 - Friday 5th July - Dublin to Kerry - The Rock of Cashel

Leaving the city behind us today we will be heading west, taking our time travelling through Ireland’s hidden heartlands. Stop and visit the Rock of Cashel, one of Ireland’s most iconic collections of medieval buildings. Perched on a precipice of limestone in the Golden Vale, it offers over 1,000 years of fascinating history and folklore.
This evening check into the 5 star Sheen Falls Estate set on the Wild Atlantic Way, outside the town of Kenmare, Co Kerry, Sheen Falls Lodge is an unforgettable base for your Irish holiday, providing the ultimate in hospitality and onsite activities.

Day 9 - Saturday 6th July - Unique Foraging Experience

Found on the shores of the south Kerry coast is one of our favourite characters. A fisherman, foraging expert, storyteller and a true Irish gent, John will take you on a wander along the shoreline learning about life on Ireland’s west coast all the while regaling you with tales of characters from the region, from lonely monks to 18th century civil rights activists to mythical heroes. Top your day off with a visit to the home of one of Ireland’s most famous revolutionary political figures before returning to your hotel this evening

Day 10 - Sunday 7th July - Onsite at Sheen Falls

Spend today discovering some of the wonderful activities that Sheen Falls has to offer.
Start your morning with an exhilarating Hawk Walk as your get up close and and personal with some impressive birds of prey while strolling the beautiful estate. An age-old country pursuit, a guided Hawk Walk takes place under instruction from an experienced falconer. Witness the unique relationship the hawks have with their falconer, while learning how to handle and fly these magnificent birds for yourself.

This afternoon, your have options for fishing, boat trips, picnics, horse riding, golf, horse and carraige rides and so much more.
