Day by Day

Day 1 - Welcome to Scotland

On arrival at Edinburgh airport, you will be met by a private transfer driver and you’ll set off on your Scottish Adventure.

Its a 4.5 hour journey to the jagged peaks of the Torridon Massif but just sit back and relax as the ever changing scenery rolls past your window as the flat lowland turn into dramatic mountains.

Day 2 - Exploring the North West Coast

Meet your main guide today who will also be your driver for the rest of the trip and set out to explore the North West Coast.  Head round the coastal roads to see some of the beautifl beaches, perhaps head out on a private boat trip or enjoy a hike in some of the stunning scenery.  The choice is yours and your guide will make sure that youu make the most out of your day here.

Day 3 - More Explorations

Another day to explore the area with your guide with multiple options from whale watching tours to castle visits and ending the day with a decadent afternoon tea or a whisky tasting,  This day can be tailored to your interests.

Day 4 - To Skye

Transfer south to Skye through the dramatic landscapes…enjoy some time in the village of Plockton to stop off and explore this pretty sea side village before heading over the bridge onto Skye.

Day 5 - Exploring Skye

Head to Portree this morning to enjoy a free morning exploring the village and the harbour, after lunch head north west for an after hours tour of Dunvegan Castle (seat of the MacLeod Clan with the legend of the fairy flag) before returning to Kinloch Lodge in the late evening.

Day 6 - The Islands off Skye

Take a private boat trip to the islands of Raasay and Rona today with a gorgeous sea food lunch on board. See the dramatic landscapes of Skye from a different angle and enjoy visiting the lesser known islands just across the water.

Day 7 - To the Mainland

Take the ferry back to the mainland and travel along the famous Road to the Isles where you may see the famous steam train thundering along. Stop off to explore Glenfinnan Monument before sitting back and drinking in the views as you drive along the towards the mountains and your castle hotel nestled in the shadow of the highest mountain in the UK.

Day 8 - Exploring the Nevis Range

There are lots of options for today, you could enjoy a hike in the famous Nevis Range – perhaps to the third highest waterfall in the UK with far reaching views along the glen.  Or you could take the cable car to the top of Aonach Mòr which offers breathtaking views of the famous North Face of Ben Nevis as well as back across towards Skye and the Torridon Massif in the far distance.

Your guide will discuss all the options with you to make the most out of your day.

Day 9 - The Myths of Glencoe

Head into the mystic valley of Glencoe today to enjoy a hike where you may see some of the local wildlife such a an elusive red deer staring down at you from the ridge line or a pair of Golden Eagles soaring in the skies above your head.

Spend some time at the Glencoe Visitor Centre immersing yourselves in the history of this incredible place before heading to a local hikers tavern to meet up with a local storyteller. Sit back with a warming dram of Scotch whisky and let the tales of distance times and the myths and legends wash over you.  A wonderful way to end your time in the Highlands.

Day 10 - Transfer to Edinburgh

It is time to leave the peaks behind as you head back to the city today.  On the way you can stop off at Stirling Castle to explore one of the most important castles in the country before arriving at your iconic hotel in the heart of the city.

Should time allow, you can head out to explore the city in the late afternoon before enjoying dinner at one of the many eateries in the city and raise a glass to your Scottish Adventure.

Day 11 - Depart

A private transfer will take you to the airport this morning in time for your onwards flights.  Taking with you memories from a wonderful trip and a longing to return.
