Day by Day

Day 1 - Monday 6th May - Welcome to Scotland

On arrival at the airport you will be met by a private driver who will transfer you to the Cairngorm National Park and your luxurious hotel in Breamar. Depending on your arrival time you can choose to relax at the hotel or head out for a walk from the grounds of the hotel.

Day 2 - Tuesday 7th May - Munro Bagging in the Cairngorms

There are 282 munros in Scotland and with so many to choose from in the Cairngorms, you are spoilt for choice. Classics like Ben Macdui which is the second highest mountain in Britain will give you spectacular views across the national park. Of course there are may more options for bagging munros in the area and your guide will discuss the best options for you and the weather conditions on the day.  After a big day, you will feast tonight on the delicious local produce and raise a toast to your achievement.

Day 3 - Wednesday 8th May - Bike the Balmoral Castle & Ballater Loop

Today will be a day on the bike with your guide as you take on Balmoral Castle and Ballater loop which covers 40 miles of stunning scenery, with the option to extend if you are feeling energetic!  This route is a true Scottish classic, feel the crisp Highland air as you pass by Balmoral castle, through quaint Scottish villages and navigate winding country roads. This route will leave you with a big smile on your face! Celebrate with a drink in one of Breamar’s many bar options and prepare for your onward journey to Torridon.

Day 4 - Thursday 9th May - Travel to Torridon

This morning you will head north to the awe inspiring mountains of Torridon. You can choose to stop off for a game of golf on your journey at Cabot course (formally known as Castle Stewart) before your onward journey to the heart of the Scottish Highlands.

Day 5 - Friday 10th May - Climb Torridon's Magnificent Mountains

Today your guide will take you on an adventure into some of the UK’s most rugged and beautiful landscapes. Glen Torridon is surrounded by some of the most spectacular peaks in the UK, 6 of which are Munros. If weather conditions allow, you could attempt the traverse of Beinn Eighe ridge, a huge cluster of of rugged peaks, ridges and scree-covered slopes between Loch Maree and Glen Torridon.  The spectacular path climbs very steeply through a magnificent ancient pinewood up onto a bare, ice-scraped plateau of rock. Depending on your chosen route you could bag 2 Munros on this challenging day out.

Day 6 - Saturday 11th May - Travel to Harris

Today you will travel to the Isle of Harris with a stop off on the Isle of Skye for a bit of exploration and to view the Cuillins, the UK’s most challenging mountain range. Onward by ferry you will arrive at your island hotel on the shoreline for the next 3 nights.

Day 7 - Sunday 12th May - Golf with a View

Today your guide will leave you enjoy a round of golf at the infamous Isle of Harris Golf Club. Located in Scarista on the west coast of Harris, it is often described as one of the world’s finest settings for the game of golf. After a game with view, this afternoon you can head into the Harris Hills to enjoy a hike with awe inspiring views across this stunning island and maybe even catch a glimpse of the many pairs of Golden Eagles that call these hills home.

Day 8 - Monday 13th May - Bike the The sands of Luskentyre and the Golden Road Loop

Hop back on a bike with your guide today to ride a stunning stretch of road that winds and twists through the East Coast of Harris connecting tiny hamlets. The landscape is often described as ‘lunar’ thanks to its rocks and lochs that reflect the sun. It sounds like something from a fiction book, and indeed, the views from The Golden Road are out of this world.  Each turn on the winding road reveals unspoiled hills, coastline and plenty of wildlife such as seals, eagles and many sheep.  This road route will show you the very best of the outer Hebrides.

Day 9 - Tuesday 14th May - Depart

After breakfast, you will begin your journey to Dornoch. Boarding the ferry and enjoying the spectacular drive through the Scottish Highlands to Dornoch.
