Day by Day

Day 1 - Monday 6th May - Welcome to Scotland

On arrival at the airport you will be met by a private driver who will transfer you to the Isle of Arran on the west coast. Settle in to your luxurious hotel on the shoreline. Depending on your arrival time you can choose to relax at the hotel or head out for a walk from the grounds of the hotel.

Day 2 - Tuesday 7th May - Discover Arran's Corbett's

Today your guide will take you on an adventure to discover some of the Corbett’s that lie on the Isle of Arran, known as the little sisters of Munros but every bit as enjoyable. If weather conditions allow and you feel up to a big day in the hills, you could attempt a round of Beinn Tarsuinn, Caisteal Abhail, Cìr Mhòr, Goat Fell, a cluster of beautiful hills easily accessed. With views across the island in every direction, you won’t be disappointed.

Day 3 - Wednesday 8th May - Ride the Arran Circular

Today you will get on the bike with your guide and set off on Arran’s most famous cycling route, the Arran circular!  It’s got all the ingredients necessary for a perfect cycling loop, with a great balance of flat and hills, lots of cafés and cake stops and immense scenery. By no means an easy loop but a way to see every side of this beautiful island. After getting the miles in, enjoy some rest and relaxation at your hotel and sample some of the best local produce including amazing seafood and foraged delights.

Day 4 - Thursday 9th May - Journey to the Valley of Glencoe

You’ll leave the island this morning and head back to the mainland and the mystic valley of Glen Coe. On the way you can stop off for a leg stretch in the Loch Lomond National Park, perhaps up the iconic hill that Sir Walter Scott once claimed offered the finest views in all of Scotland. Continuing through the beautiful scenery you will arrive in the valley of Glencoe, and your luxury accommodation overlooking the incredible scenery of the valley.

Day 5 - Friday 10th May - Munro Bagging in Glencoe

Enjoy breakfast before meeting your guide and heading out to explore the mountains of Glencoe. The spectacular glen, carved out centuries ago by glaciers and volcanic eruptions, offers some wild and scenic hillwalking. There are many Munros to summit, notably Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK or perhaps a less crowded peak like Stob Dearg (Buachaille Etive Mòr), the sentinel of Glen Coe. The iconic peak is a domineering mass of knobbly outcrops and rock-faces and best of all, its two Munro summits are well within the reach of the adventurous hillwalker.

Day 6 - Saturday 11th May - Round of Golf and Journey East

After a hearty breakfast, enjoy a game of golf at Woodlands course in the heart of Glencoe, it is sure to be a game with a view! Meet your driver and guide and commence your journey to the Cairngorms National Park. Along the way, enjoy the scenic drive, absorbing the breathtaking landscapes en route. Settle into your beautiful hotel in Breamar and perhaps take a leisurely stroll and prepare for your adventures ahead in the Cairngorms.

Day 7 - Sunday 12th May - Bike the Balmoral Castle & Ballater Loop

Today will be a day on the bike with your guide as you take on Balmoral Castle and Ballater loop which covers 40 miles of stunning scenery, with the option to extend if you are feeling energetic!  This route is a true Scottish classic, feel the crisp Highland air as you pass by Balmoral castle, through quaint Scottish villages and navigate winding country roads. This route will leave you with a big smile on your face! Celebrate with a drink in one of Breamar’s many bar options and indulge in the local fare.

Day 8 - Monday 13th May - Munro Bagging in the Cairngorms

There are 282 munros in Scotland and with so many to choose from in the Cairngorms, you are spoilt for choice. Classics like Ben Macdui which is the second highest mountain in Britain will give you spectacular views across the national park. Of course there are may more options for bagging munros in the area and your guide will discuss the best options for you and the weather conditions on the day.  After a big day, you will feast tonight on the delicious local produce and raise a toast to your achievement.

Day 9 - Tuesday 14th May - Depart

After breakfast, you will begin your private transfer to Dornoch, enjoying the spectacular drive through the Scottish Highlands and reflecting on your adventurous 8 days climbing and cycling through the diverse and awe-inspiring corners of this beautiful country.
