Day by Day

Day 1 - Friday 14th June - Welcome to Dublin - Free afternoon

On arrival in Dublin, you’ll be met at the airport by a private driver who will whisk you directly to your city centre hotel.
Check in may not be available till later today however you are free to leave your bags behind the reception, freshen up, grab a bite to eat or head out to stretch the legs and start to explore Dublin City.

St Stephen’s green is lated just beside your hotel and is perfect for a take away coffee and stroll. Just adjacent is the popular pedestrian shopping street of Grafton Street where there are always buskers and live musicians playing. The Little Museum of Dublin is a short walk away or wander farther afar into Temple Bar and down O’Connell Street.

Day 2 - Saturday 15th June - Morning Walking Tour

This morning you will be joined by a local historian for an engaging walking tour of our lively capital city. Explore some of Dublin’s best-known attractions, while also enjoying the benefit of local knowledge by visiting spots hidden off the tourist trail. rom Dublin Castle, to Molly Malone, your guide has all the history and knowledge and stories bringing the streets and buildings to life.

Later this afternoon, enjoy some free time, before grabbing an early dinner and a few drinks and heading to your Killers Concert in the 3Arena for a gig to remember.

Day 3 - Sunday 16th June - Dublin to The Ring of Kerry

Your private guide/ driver will meet meet you this morning and after some short introductions, together you will travel west, to the Wild Atlantic Way and to the little town of Kenmare, on The Ring of Kerry.

Crossing green fields, dotted with sheep, stone walls and rural farmhouses, we take the opportunity to stop for lunch in the little village of Cashel.

Set on a dramatic outcrop of limestone in the Golden Vale, The Rock of Cashel, iconic in its historic significance, possesses the most impressive cluster of medieval buildings in Ireland. Among the monuments to be found there is a round tower, a high cross, a Romanesque chapel, a Gothic cathedral, an abbey, the Hall of the Vicars Choral and a fifteenth-century Tower House.

Originally the seat of the kings of Munster, according to legend St. Patrick himself came here to convert King Aenghus to Christianity. Brian Boru was crowned High King at Cashel in 978 and made it his capital.

Your guide will join you for a delicious welcome to the west dinner this evening in Kenmare.

Day 4 - Monday 17th June - Killarney National Park

From Kenmare, head inland to the oldest National Park in Ireland, Killarney. Synonymous with forbidding jagged peaks, punishing hill climbs, steep mountain roads and lush green valleys, Killarney is a hikers and bikers paradise.

Explore the park with your guide today on a hike that is matched to your ability and preference. With plenty of routes to choose from, your day in the park will be challenging and rewarding.

Day 5 - Tuesday 18th June - Mythological Dingle

One of four peninsulas to be found in Kerry and perhaps the most famous, The Dingle Peninsula is wild and rugged, a distilled expression of the best of Ireland. This is Gaeltacht country where the Irish language is still widely spoken as a first language and culture and traditions remain strong.
Meeting a local mythology guide and expert your day will be filled with tales of legends, folklore and drama and maybe a wee song or two. Think Ireland is all about Leprechauns and Faeries, think again. Ireland’s mythological stories are dark and foreboding.

Day 6 - Wednesday 19th June - Exploring Galway City - Whiskey Experience

Today you leave the southern shores and track north, arriving in Galway City. A labyrinth of cobbled streets, colourful shops and street performers, this city has a bohemian atmosphere. With your knowledgeable guide, spend the afternoon exploring the warren of streets before you venture off the beaten path to a small pub which, behind its nondescript doors, holds a treasure trove of whiskey. Surely one of the most impressive collections in the country, chat with the owner as you indulge in an informal tasting.

Tonight, check into your hotel, on the outskirts of the charming little village of Clifden in the heart of Connemara National Park, where traditional music, poetry and song can be found.

Day 7 - Thursday 20th June - Connemara National Park

The hills and mountains of Connemara are defined by the ocean surrounding them, and this is particularly evident at the beautiful Killary Fjord. This morning your guide will lead you along the shores of the fjord, delving into Irish history at a famine-era abandoned village and bringing to life the rich and ancient histories of the landscape. Head back to your hotel via the stunningly beautiful Kylemore Abbey and Gardens to tour the grounds and hear the romantic story behind this iconic site.

Your guide will say goodbye to you this evening as tomorrow, a private transfer will take you to Ashford Castle for your final night in Ireland.

Day 8 - Friday 21st June - Ashford Castle

After a leisurely morning in Clifden, shopping, people watching and browsing , a private transfer will take you to Mayo where the impressive 800 year old Ashford Castle awaits you. Once owned by the Guinness family, Ashford has a history dating back to the 12th century and has earned its place in Ireland’s history books. Today, Ashford is one of Ireland’s premier hotels offering an unforgettable experience.

Ashford Castle boasts many outdoor activity pursuits for those wishing to try their hand at the life of the gentry. This afternoon we have arranged an exhilarating  private falconry experience, at Ashford’s School of Falconry. Meet the hawks, owls and Birds of Prey that call this castle home.

Day 9 - Saturday 22nd June - Return to Dublin

Following check out, a private transfer will take you back to where your Irish Adventure began, Dublin. For you final night in Ireland, check into the 5 star The Westbury Hotel in the heart of Dublin shopping district where some of the best bars and restaurants are within a stones throw of your hotel.
