Day 1 - Monday 27th November - Exploring Edinburgh Through A Local Lens

Meet with your local expert guide Val Eglinton, in the foyer of your hotel before exploring the beautiful cobblestone streets of this magical city. Full of history, the capital is very accessible by foot. Wander up the Royal Mile, stopping to visit the architecturally stunning St Giles Cathedral, and enjoy a private tour of Edinburgh Castle, with private afternoon tea experience, before visiting a traditional old world pub on the Royal Mile. This evening enjoy a welcome dinner amongst the twinkling lights of the city.

Day 2 - Tuesday 28th November - Traditions and Cultures of Scotland

Howie Nicolsby is an exceptional designer bringing the traditional Scottish kilt outfit screaming into the 21st century with an altogether more modern and wearable look, he boasts a number of well-known faces among his clientele.  Meeting Howie in person you will have the opportunity to view a stunning array of kilts, and learn about how this talented designer has modernised the garment to make the humble kilt a true design icon.

This afternoon you will head to a ‘Journey of Flavour’ tour at the Johnny Walker Experience, an eight floor paradise for whisky lovers.  This evening enjoy dinner at popular Stockbridge restaurant, Scran & Scallie.

Day 3 - Wednesday 29th November - Exploring Eboracum and the Howardian Hills

Embark on the scenic journey by rail from Edinburgh this morning to the heart of the city of York. Enjoy the spectacular views of the Northumberland coast from the comforts of first-class and enjoy complimentary brunch served on board. On arrival at York, you will be welcomed by Jade Lawson, our Senior Trip Expert in the England office and your expert city guide from Invisible Cities to discover the history of Eboracum, explore the city walls and be guided through time as you walk the medieval market street of Shambles and taste the famous cuisine that York proudly offers. For lunch meet with some local food producers for an introduction to the Artisinal foods of Malton. Jade will be present for the duration of your adventures in Yorkshire and able to share some local insight into the region being a local lass.

This afternoon visit the stately home of Newby Hall and Gardens for a private tour followed by a historical tour of Grantley Hall before settling into your rooms there and relaxing for the evening.

Day 4 - Thursday 30th November - Gems of the Yorkshire Dales

This morning meet Hannah Fawcett, local shepherd and farmer who will introduce us to her working sheepdogs and watch them in action. Later this morning we take a gentle hike into the Yorkshire Dales through a peaceful forest and on to the Aysgarth Force waterfall.

After lunch at Grantley Hall, spend the afternoon indulging in the luxury spa treatments and Wellness Suite before coming together pre-dinner for some wine tasting with Grantley’s on-site Sommelier.

Today we leave the north behind as we journey southward to London by train.  After arriving to Kings Cross, meet with your guide and driver for a Panoramic City Tour in a traditional Mini Cooper. This afternoon meet with a local culinary expert and delight your senses on a sumptuous food and drink journey of Borough Market, one of London’s largest and oldest food markets, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere, artisanal delicacies and gastronomic delights.

After a captivating morning, take a break for lunch, savouring the local flavours before embarking on the next leg of your journey. Hop onto the Thames Clipper, a thrilling way to travel, and head to Westminster Abbey. Explore the grandeur of this architectural marvel, steeped in centuries of history and tradition. As the day begins to wind down, ascend to the skies aboard the London Eye. From this breathtaking vantage point, you’ll witness the city’s vibrant lights as they come to life against the evening sky before returning to your hotel before your final evening in London.
