Day by Day

Day 1 - Thursday 7th August - Welcome to Scotland

On arrival at the airport you will be met by a private driver who will take you out of the city to your iconic hotel in the Perthshire countryside. Depending on your arrival time you can choose to relax at the hotel or head out to start exploring the stunning grounds of this incredible place.

Day 2 - Friday 8th August - Golf at Gleneagles & Horse Riding

With the wonderful heather-clad mountains as a back drop, the girls will enjoy feeling the wind in their hair as they explore the local countryside on horseback.  With an expert equestrian coach guiding you on foot, immerse yourself in this incredible countryside as you see it from a different perspective.

For the golfers, you will have an incredible morning playing on one of the best courses in the country.  As you test your skills on these challenging fairways you are sure to enjoy your round surrounded by the stunning Perthshire countryside.

Come together later today and share stories of your wonderful adventures.

Day 3 - Saturday 9th August - A Family bike ride & Falconry

Take to two wheels this morning as you head off as a family to explore the area around the hotel.  The hotel will tell you the best areas to explore and you can while away a few hours in this quiet wilderness.

This afternoon enjoy a hands on family falconry experience, where you will learn the basic skills and techniques of this fascinating sport.  Admire the skill and beauty of the Harris hawk as they fly silently overhead.

Enjoy your final evening at Gleneagles, raising a glass to your Scottish adventure.

Day 4 - Sunday 10th August - Journey to historic Glencoe

The adventure continues today as you meet your guide and head to the historic valley of Glencoe.  The dramatic mountains and ridges of Glencoe have featured as the backdrop in many films and once you are looking up at these summits it is easy to see why!

Before you arrive in Glencoe, you will take to the water and let your expert guide lead you over the sparkling waters of a stunning Scottish Loch.  Your guide will make sure you have lots of fun as you learn the basics and explore this scenic loch.  A wonderful family adventure!

Day 5 - Monday 11th August - The Mystery of Glencoe

Glencoe – a valley of myths and legends, where you can feel the true essence of Scotland seeping from the well trodden trails and drifting down the towering peaks. Your guide will discuss all the options for hikes today – from hidden valleys to secret glens, there are many choices where you can get off the beaten track and hear stories about the tragic past of this beautiful area. To end the day, you will arrive at a traditional hikers tavern where you will meet a local storyteller. Sit back with a wee dram and let the stories of the area wash over you as you immerse yourself in the history and culture of the magical part of Scotland.

Day 6 - Tuesday 12th August - Transfer to Perthshire & Historic Blair Castle

As you leave the highlands behind, there will be some time to stop and explore beautiful Glen Nevis.  At the foot of the tallest mountain in Scotland, this dramatic gorge leads to the secluded but impressive Steall Falls.  There is a notorious wire bridge crossing the water nearby, but most people are content to admire it rather than use it!

Making your way to Perthshire, in the heart of Scotland you will stop for a visit to Blair Castle; the castle has been home to the Atholl family for over seven centuries.  Home to politicians, soldiers, agriculturalists and entrepreneurs, the family is brought to life against a backdrop of fine 18th century interiors.  Continue on your journey to your luxury castle accommodation where you will have the evening to settle in and perhaps explore the lovely surrounding grounds.

Day 7 - Wednesday 13th August - Friendly Red Deer & Chocolate!

After a relaxed breakfast this morning, you will enjoy a unique experience where you will meet some friendly local red deer.  Learn about these curious creatures before getting to meet them, all while enjoying views over this spectacular area.

As you share stories of this wonderful experience, you will make your way to a lovely highland village where you can enjoy the delights of the Highland Chocolatier’s world-famous chocolate truffles.  Enjoy the smells and tastes at this quaint little chocolate shop on the banks of the river Tay.

You can choose to head back to your hotel to enjoy a relaxed evening or explore some of the lovely villages in the area and pick up some Scottish souvenirs.

Day 8 - Thursday 14th August - To Edinburgh & Historic Stirling Castle

Leaving the Highlands today you will make your way to the bustling city of Edinburgh.  Enjoy a stop en route at historic Stirling Castle, one of the grandest castles in Scotland with an imposing location overlooking the city of Stirling.  You will feel the history come to life as you explore this unique castle.

Arriving in Edinburgh, you will bid farewell to your guide and your evening is free to relax and settle in to your luxurious accommodation.

Day 9 - Friday 15th August - Exploring Edinburgh

This morning immerse yourselves in the winding cobbled streets of historic Old Town Edinburgh as you enjoy a private walking tour with an expert local guide. Discover the highlights of this unique capital city from the Palace of Holyroodhouse all the way up the ‘Royal Mile’ to the mighty ancient fortress which is Edinburgh Castle itself. Walk the ramparts atop castle rock and hear the tales of the One O’Clock gun and the stories of locals of times past.

Late afternoon you will discover yet another side of Edinburgh as you adventure down underneath the city on a private underground tour of a warren of tiny fascinating streets dating from the 17th century.
