Day 1 - The Capital to the Cairngorms

Board the train from Edinburgh to Aviemore and embark on a picturesque journey before meeting your guide at the Aviemore train station around lunchtime. Stretch your legs with a hike to start exploring the area, perhaps choosing to wander the captivating landscapes around Green Lochan. This mesmerising body of water is nestled amidst verdant woodlands and encircled by the majestic Cairngorms. Delve into the area’s natural allure, perhaps tracing the peaceful trails surrounding the lochan.

Day 2 - Animal Encounters and Tales of Old

Embark on a memorable family day in the Cairngorms and begin by meeting some of the locals with a guided alpaca encounter, engaging with these charming creatures known for their gentle demeanour. Led by a knowledgeable guide, you’ll family will enjoy a scenic stroll, learning fascinating facts and creating special memories with these fluffy creatures. After some lunch, you’ll gather by the tranquil shores of Loch an Eilean for a family-friendly storytelling session. A skilled storyteller will weave tales that captivate audiences of all ages, fostering a sense of wonder amidst the serene surroundings. The combination of outdoor exploration and the magic of storytelling makes this day an ideal blend of nature, animals, and imagination, ensuring a wholesome and unforgettable experience for everyone in the family.

Day 3 - Highland Wildlife Park

Explore the captivating Highland Wildlife Park, an adventure brimming with diverse fauna set amidst the breathtaking Scottish Highlands. Encounter native and exotic species, from majestic red deer to elusive Scottish wildcats, while learning about the park’s conservation efforts and enjoying close encounters with fascinating wildlife against the stunning backdrop of the Highlands’ natural beauty. After a spot of lunch, we’ll transfer a short distance to Insch Marshes Reserve to meet a local ranger who will guide you through the reserve, helping you to interpret the bird calls from above and below.

Day 4 - Transfer to the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park

Wake to your final morning in the Cairngorms before transferring south to the captivating Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. Take a break from the road to enjoy a spot of lunch and stretch your legs at the Hermitage – a magical stretch of Perthshire forest that was originally designed as a pleasure ground in the 18th century for the Dukes of Atholl. Continuing on, we’ll pass through a number of quaint villages where you can all enjoy a hot chocolate at the world-famous Highland Chocolatier.

Day 5 - Family Fun in Loch Lomond National Park

Start your day with a filling breakfast in advance of today’s adventure. First, we’ll head to Loch Katrine to enjoy a gentle cruise along its silver waters. Setting foot on dry land, we’ll transfer a short distance to the village of Aberfoyle where you’ll enjoy some lunch before collecting your bikes. Enjoy the tranquillity of nature as you pedal through winding paths, surrounded by lush greenery and the enchanting sights and sounds of the national park.

Day 6 - Treasured Moments and Fairy Trails

On your last day in the hills, revisit a cherished memory and return to the location of your engagement. Relive the magic with your children in this special spot, reminiscing on your journey so far. Following this heartfelt visit, we’ll enjoy a ramble through the native woodlands keeping an out for faeries on a special trail. It is said that since the beginning of time, Scottish faeries have lived by the Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond. Perhaps round the day off with a hearty bowl of soup from a local village cafe before heading back to your accommodation to wind down and enjoy your last night in the highlands.

Day 7 - Castles and Kites

Begin your journey to Edinburgh today, enjoying the scenic countryside passing by and evolving into the bustling city. Make your first stop at the captivating Red Kites at Doune, witnessing these majestic birds in flight and learning about their conservation. Revel in the mesmerizing aerial displays and the unique opportunity to witness these incredible creatures up close. Following this engaging visit, consider a potential stop at the historic and grand Stirling Castle, immersing yourself in Scotland’s rich history and architectural marvels.
