Day by Day

Day 1 - Welcome to Scotland

On arrival at the airport you will be met by a private driver who will transfer you to your city centre hotel. Depending on your arrival time you can choose to relax at the hotel or head out to start exploring this unique city.

Day 2 - Exploring Edinburgh

This morning immerse yourselves in the winding cobbled streets of historic Old Town Edinburgh as you enjoy a private walking tour with an expert local guide. Discover the highlights of this unique capital city from the Palace of Holyroodhouse all the way up the ‘Royal Mile’ to the mighty ancient fortress which is Edinburgh Castle itself. Walk the ramparts atop castle rock and hear the tales of the One O’Clock gun and the stories of locals of times past. Your guide will leave you here so that you can spend as much time in the castle as you wish.

You then have a free afternoon to continue explorations at your own pace, pick up souvenirs or relax as you prefer, before the chance to sample some of the finest Whisky in Scotland. You will learn about the process that goes into creating this drink, some of it’s history, and it’s story so far, before the chance to sample a few drams under the guidance of an expert tutor.

Day 3 - A Round of Golf at a Famous Course

After breakfast it is time to meet your experienced guide, who will also act as your driver for the next part of your Scotland trip. You will head out of the city towards a famous golf course and the chance to play 18 holes on a championship level course.

Upon finishing up your round, it’s time to head north towards the capital of the highlands, Inverness. Depending on your time of arrival, you could head out and explore the city, or enjoy time relaxing at the hotel.

Day 4 - Historic Castles and The Isle of Skye

Today you will enjoy some of the most scenic driving in Scotland, as you pass lochs, forests, & castles. First stop today is Urquhart Castle, standing on the shores of Loch Ness, this historic ruins played it’s part in many of Scotland’s dramatic past. From one iconic castle to another, you’re next stop is Eilean Donan Castle. One of Scotland’s most photographed locations, this castle stands on an outcrop of land where 3 sea lochs meet, and has been featured in tv and movies throughout the years.

From here, it’s on to the Isle of Skye, arguably Scotland’s most famous Hebridean Island. Make the journey across the bridge, and enjoy the stunning mountain scenery as you head for the island capital of Portree.

Day 5 - Guided Explorations on the Isle of Skye

Today you have the morning to explore some of the special corners of this magical island with your guide. You will be spoilt for choice with fascinating history and dramatic landscape on offer, with unique hiking routes through stark and unusual rock formations and sweeping coast and mountain views to enjoy in almost every direction. This ‘misty isle’ is also home to so many curious stories and legends of fairies and islander culture, your guide will share some of the best hidden gems and personalise the day to your interests.

It is then time to sample the whisky from a well known island distillery. Enjoy a guided tour while you learn about how they craft their whisky, before the chance to sample some of the offerings under the guidance of you experienced guide.

Day 6 - Boat Trip & Hiking to the Wild Loch Coruisk

This morning you head out to explore the secretive Loch Coruisk with your guide. From the tiny fishing village of Elgol you take a boat trip to the heart of the Black Cuillin mountains which tower above the blue waters of the loch. Along the way you can spot seals and perhaps dolphins in the coastal waters. The boat will drop you at the remote southern end of the loch and you can drink in the atmosphere of this stupendous place as you hike around the loch. Today is sure to be a highlight of the trip with memories to cherish.

Day 7 - Return to Mainland

This morning you head south for the harbour town of Armadale and your ferry back to mainland Scotland. Upon docking into Mallaig, enjoy the stunning views back across to the south of Skye and the small isles of Rum and Eigg.

It is now time to follow one of the most beautiful roads in the world, as you wind your way along stunning scenery, including white sand beaches, glistening lochs, and rugged ridge lines. There are so many places to stop off and explore along the way, so chat with your guide about what you want to see. Towards the end of the road you will reach the Glenfinnan Viaduct, famous for it’s role in the Harry Potter film franchise. This location offers stunning views across the neighbouring loch Shiel and the monument that stands proudly upon the shores. After taking some time here, head for Fort William and a local pub settling in as a local storyteller weaves their way through history and legend of the local area.

Day 8 - Vibrant Glasgow

After a relaxed breakfast at the hotel, meet your guide and journey south back towards the major cities of Scotland. Today’s route takes you though the stunning Glencoe, with plenty of stops available to stretch your legs and head out on a small hike. Chat with your guide about what you wish to do, and they will be able to advise on the options available.

It is then time to head for Glasgow, the final stop on your Scottish adventure. Your guide will take you to your city centre accommodation before bidding their farewells as they depart. Depending on your arrival time you could head out and explore the vibrant city, or simply relax at the hotel.

Day 9 - A Food Tour of Glasgow

Meet an expert local guide in the foyer of your hotel and head out for a day of exploring Glasgows diverse food scene. Enjoy time sampling some uniquely Scottish food and drink, as you visit some of the cities famous pubs and restaurants, and learn about the Scottish larder and how it is embedded in the food you eat today. This is a great way to cap of an unforgettable journey through Scotland.

Day 10 - Depart
