Day by Day

Day 1 - Welcome Historical Walking Tour of Dublin

Míle Fáilte go hÉirinn or a thousand welcomes to Ireland as your flight touches down on Irish soil and you are transferred from the airport to nearby Dublin City and your centrally located 5 star hotel, The Merrion. Choose to relax on-site at The Merrion this afternoon, grab a coffee to go and wander the nearby shopping district or visit some of the art and history museums within easy walking distance.

For those who wish to start their formal introduction to Ireland, a historical-based walking tour of the city is the perfect afternoon activity. Visiting locations such as Trinity, Dublin Castle, and the GPO, you will explore the main features of Irish history—the English conquest, the influences of the American and French Revolutions, the Great Hunger, the struggle for independence and much more.

Day 2 - Sailing Dublin Harbour

Experience life on board a traditional sailing vessel, where you can choose to be a part of the crew, set the sails, heave the ropes, climb the rigging, and man the wheel, or sit back, sipping a glass of wine and enjoying the stunning beauty of the Dublin’s iconic bay. This experience is perfect for beginners and seasoned sailors alike. Back on dry land, enjoy a fish supper al fresco, at the 40 foot, with the stunning sunset, before catching a trad session and pint of Guinness at a local pub.

Day 3 - Medieval Kilkenny

Your private driver/ guide will meet you this morning at your hotel, where after some short introductions, you will set out to begin exploring a more rural Ireland, one of bucolic pastoral scenes, small hamlets and quiet village streets.

Visit the mediaeval town of Kilkenny, with its grand castle at its centre. Built in 1129 by Norman occupiers, this 12th-century castle has been the scene of many of Ireland’s most important and historic events. After your castle tour, enjoy a walk through this ancient city following The Medieval Mile, the discovery trail running from Kilkenny Castle to St. Canice’s Cathedral, passing churches, museums and historical treasures along the way.

Your destination this evening is Ireland’s original capital city, Cork.

Day 4 - Kinsale Food Tour

The coastal town of Kinsale, with its picturesque harbour, bobbing boats and colourful shop fronts, is a foodie’s paradise and one of Ireland’s centres of gastronomy, with many Michelin-recommended restaurants within walking distance of the Marina. We have arranged for you to join a local who will take you to a selection of local eateries to hear stories about the food, its production and impact, and how it ties with the business both locally and beyond. En route back to Cork, stop by a meadery where local enthusiasts have founded Ireland’s first meadery in 200 years, reviving this ancient Celtic beverage.

Day 5 - Farm Tour and Cheese Tasting

Leaving Cork, we head west to Killarney, passing many farms and homesteads on the way. Stopping at one, take an exclusive farm-to-table tour with a fantastic visit to one of Ireland’s premier water buffalo farms and cheese-making enterprises.

Experience life on a busy working dairy farm and see where Macroom Buffalo Mozzarella and many other cheeses are made each day, meet John, the farmer and his herd and enjoy a special tasting session after your tour.

Day 6 - Killarney Lakes Boat Trip

Killarney National Park is the most famous of Ireland’s National Parks – and with good reason! Enjoy Kerry’s most breathtaking mountains, lakes and waterfalls today with your guide on a private boat trip across the lake. There are historic manor houses and abbeys that make for an interesting visit, but Killarney is best explored via beautiful forested and mountain hikes. After your morning boat tour, your guide will lead you along a looped forest trail which finishes with a descent along the iconic landmark of Torc Waterfall.

Day 7 - Unique Foraging Experience

Into the southern part of the Ring of Kerry, the landscape becomes wilder and more rugged. At a secluded bay, meet a local foodie whose passion is uncovering the Kerry Coast’s edible gems, such as various seaweeds and coastal plants. Together, spend the morning exploring Kerry’s quiet seashore, listening to stories, learning about life on Ireland’s west coasts and uncovering some of nature’s bounty in the tidepools and rocky crevices.

Day 8 - Dingle Peninsula

Head off this morning to explore the wild and rugged Dingle peninsula, a distilled expression of the best of Ireland. Take a walk on the stunning white sand Inch Beach and admire the breathtaking scenery around you.  Continuing to Dingle town, this is Gaeltacht country where the Irish language is still widely spoken as a first language and culture and traditions remain strong. You’ll try your hand at one of these traditions as you learn to bake Irish soda bread and discover the history of Irish food. Your table will never be without a fresh loaf of homemade Irish bread again!

Day 9 - Adare Manor with a Bespoke Whiskey Tasting Experience

Today we make our way to the wonderful and charming Adare Village, consistently voted “Ireland’s prettiest village”, with traditional thatched roofed cottages, tea rooms, craft shops, castle ruins and a town square. At the heart of the village is the impressive Adare Manor, your final destination on this epic Irish adventure.

Enjoy a bespoke whiskey-tasting experience at the manor this afternoon before dining in style in one of the many award-winning restaurants

Day 10 - Country Pursuits

Experience the life of the gentrified today with some traditional country pursuits on-site at Adare Manor, starting with Falconry. Get up close and personal with the world’s most majestic birds of prey. Within the beautiful grounds, the professional resident falconer will introduce you to a selection of eight raptors from a family of impressive birds of prey from around the world.

Clay pigeon shooting is a sport that quickens your pulse, sharpens your eye, and rewards a cool head. Not far from the Gamekeeper’s Cottage on the Adare Manor estate, you can experience the excitement of shooting a rapidly moving target out of the sky.
