Day 1 - Wednesday 3rd July - Welcome to Scotland

Your private guide who will also be your driver for your journey through Scotland will meet you at the airport and you’ll head north towards the largest National Park in the UK.  Passing alongside sparkling rivers and under towering pine trees, you can stop off as you see fit perhaps for a stroll to a beautiful waterfall or maybe a slightly more strenuous hike up one of the many hills that you will come across on your way to your luxury hotel.

On arrival at your hotel in the quiet village of Braemar, you can indulge in a revitalising treatment before sitting down to dine on local produce in the stunning dining room.

Overnight: Braemar | The Fife Arms
Room Type: Royal Suite
Meals Included: Lunch

Day 2 - Thursday 4th July - Fly Fishing

Spend the day being at one with nature as you cast your line on a secluded beat with just the sound of the water against your waders and the wind rippling through the trees.  You’ll be accompanied by a local ghillie who can offer hints and tips on your technique and make sure you are casting in the right direction for the best catch.

Enjoy lunch on the riverbank before your guide picks you up again in the afternoon and takes you back to your hotel.

Before dinner, you can enjoy a private whisky tasting in the hotel bar, letting the amber nectar warm you as a local storyteller weaves their magic with tales of days gone by and the myths and legends of this ancient land.

Overnight: Braemar | The Fife Arms
Room Type: Royal Suite
Meals Included: Breakfast and Lunch

Day 3 - Friday 5th July - Hiking in the Cairngorms

Today, enjoy a hike in the beautiful Cairngorms National Park. At over 4500 sq km it is the largest National Park in the UK and with miles of winding rivers, make it Scotland’s most prolific whisky-making region. With your guide, choose a hike that suits you – perhaps head out onto the alpine plateau of the Cairngorms Mountain range and bag a sought-after Munro. Or choose to explore the Caledonian pine forest which is the oldest forest in Scotland and the last of the woodland that once covered the whole of the UK. Roam heather-covered glens and alongside jewel-like lochs for the perfect immersion into the ancient landscape.

Back at your hotel in the late afternoon you will head to the spa for some energising treatments before enjoying a final nights dinner at the hotel.

Overnight: Braemar | The Fife Arms
Room Type: Royal Suite
Meals Included: Breakfast and Lunch

Day 4 - Saturday 6th July - Transfer to Edinburgh

It is time to leave the towering peaks of the Cairngorms behind and head back to the bright lights of the city.  But first, you have one last adventure to have in this beautiful part of the world.  Head deep into the mountains where you will find a remote bothy with incredible views across the rolling hills of Perthshire.

Here you will enjoy a delicious lunch followed by a tour of the house that has been in the same family for generations before heading on to Edinburgh where you will arrive in the early evening.

Tonight you can head out to enjoy one of the many delicious eateries that Edinburgh has to offer or simply relax at your hotel and make use of their leisure facilities.

Overnight: Edinburgh | The Balmoral Hotel
Room Type: Castle View Suite
Meals Included: Breakfast and Lunch

Day 5 - Sunday 7th July - Exploring Edinburgh

This morning immerse yourselves in the winding cobbled streets of historic Old Town Edinburgh as you enjoy a private walking tour with an expert local guide. Discover the highlights of this unique capital city from the Palace of Holyroodhouse all the way up the ‘Royal Mile’ to the mighty ancient fortress which is Edinburgh Castle itself. Walk the ramparts atop castle rock and hear the tales of the One O’Clock gun and the stories of locals of times past.

You then have a free afternoon to continue explorations at your own pace, pick up souvenirs or perhaps explore more of Edinburgh with your guide.

In the late afternoon, your guide will take you to embark on a culinary tour of the tastebuds as you head to a local cookery school to learn tricks of the trade. Create a Scottish culinary masterpiece which then you can enjoy together accompanied by a paired wine or beer – a wonderful way to end your trip to Scotland.
