Day by Day

Day 1 - Thursday 23rd May - Arrival in Ireland, Head West

This morning, pick up your rental car and make your way to what is known as the capital of Ireland’s west, Galway! Known as the ‘town of the tribes’ the small centre of cobblestone streets and colourful store fronts is vibrant, fun and cosmopolitan. Spend the day at leisure as this evening you will enjoy an a truly epic Irish cultural performance. Hear the soulful words of WB Yeats come alive in song, then shift gear for some “Uptown Funk” Irish-style and see how these world class dancers brought Broadway to its feet. Sit back as this enchanting evening unfolds with toe-tapping tunes, spirited performances, and the infectious energy of local musicians.

Day 2 - Friday 24th May - Basket Weaving in Connemara

Connemara is characterised by a rugged coastline to the south and west with many mountains and lakes to the North and a peat landscape running through its centre. The area is home to the largest Gaeltacht (Gaelic Speaking Population) in Ireland where an estimated 70% of the population speak Irish as their first language on a daily basis. Oozing with culture and tradition, Connemara and the islands have a lot to offer. Today you will immerse yourself in the traditional art and methods of basket weaving with a local artist. Set amidst a picturesque landscape, this hands-on workshop offers a unique opportunity to connect with age-old craftsmanship while learning from a skilled practitioner. This area has always been synonymous with the arts and particularly crafts and there is no better way to see these uniquely crafted works of art than from the people that produce them.

Day 3 - Saturday 25th May - Whiskey & Storytelling

The morning is free for you to explore Galway city. We recommend a stroll through Shop Street and a coffee stop down by the Spanish Arch overlooking the water. This evening join a local whiskey guide who will lead you around the streets of Galway into some of the oldest pubs to discover the finest Irish whiskey. Tasting the Uisce Beatha (water of life) will certainly leave you in the mood to go to your final stop to meet Galway’s famous storyteller in a cosy pub corner for an hour of tales and regaling. Allow yourself to be immersed in a world of creativity, laughter and amazement as the story’s told will let your mind wonder.

Day 4 - Sunday 26th May - Exploring Galway

Today a world of adventure awaits just beyond your hotel’s doorstep. Explore charming villages like Clifden or Roundstone, where traditional pubs and artisan shops beckon with their authentic charm.
