The adventure begins with your journey from London to the Scottish Highlands aboard the iconic Caledonian Sleeper. Upon arriving in Kingussie, you’ll be greeted by your private guide, who will accompany you to your exclusive home for the next few days, Killiehuntly Farmhouse. Settle into this beautifully restored farmhouse, where the Scandinavian-inspired design and warm, cozy interiors provide the perfect festive retreat.

The afternoon is yours to relax, perhaps by the open fire, while your private chef prepares a delicious dinner featuring local seasonal ingredients, setting the tone for a magical getaway.

Day 2 - Monday 16^th December - Wildlife Wonders

After a hearty breakfast, embark on your first adventure with a visit to the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre. Here, you’ll meet these gentle creatures in their natural habitat—a fitting festive touch for your Highland escape.

Later, your local Ghillie will guide you on a private wildlife tour, offering the chance to spot red deer, eagles, and other Highland wildlife while learning about the area’s rich ecosystem. As the day winds down, return to Killiehuntly for a peaceful evening by the fire, perhaps discussing tomorrow’s Ceilidh as you enjoy a cozy dinner with the family.

Day 3 - Tuesday 17^th December - Highland Adventure & Ceilidh Night

The day begins with an invigorating mountain biking excursion along the local trails, perfect for those in the family who crave outdoor adventure. For others, a scenic walk around the estate, led by your guide, offers a more relaxed way to take in the surrounding beauty.

In the afternoon, treat yourselves to a private outdoor sauna and cold plunge – a rejuvenating experience that blends wellness with the natural serenity of the Highlands.

As the evening approaches, prepare for an unforgettable night of traditional Scottish dancing. A private Ceilidh, complete with live music and a caller, will transform your farmhouse into a lively celebration of Highland culture, and the whole family can join in the fun.

Day 4 - Wednesday 18^th December - Festivities & Whisky Tasting

Your final full day begins with a heartwarming festive baking session in the farmhouse kitchen. Guided by a local chef, the whole family can join in as you bake traditional Scottish treats, perhaps festive shortbread, clootie dumplings, or gingerbread, filling the house with the rich, comforting scents of the holidays. It’s a perfect opportunity to share laughs and create memories, with everyone getting involved in decorating and sampling your creations.

In the afternoon, the adults will be treated to a private whisky tasting and perhaps a tour of a local Distillery. Led by an expert, you’ll sample a selection of Scotland’s finest malts, learning about the rich heritage behind each one.

The day comes to an end, board the train to return to London on the Caledonian Sleeper, winding your way through the beautiful landscapes as you leave the Highlands with lasting memories of your time at Killiehuntly Farmhouse.
